Thanks jlewisinsyr for doing the math for me. That helps a lot.
Sounds like some great suggestions from everyone. Unfortunatly we don't have a lot of options here as far as places to buy. We may have to travel a bit. I think we need to make a list and slowly sample our way through it. Good thing I did ask early!
I think sangria is a really good idea. It would go better with the casual fish fry (IMO) and has the added bonus of being a bit cheaper and probably more universally pleasing--people are less picky about t than about what "type" of wine. A red sangria, white sangria and beer with perhaps a sweet white wine like your DD likes offered when the cake comes out, as an alternative to champagne.

Penny- It'll be next summer at the earliest, but Baton Rouge is getting both a Trader Joes & a COSTCO! I know it's a bit of a drive, but it might be worth it.
Any local grocery stores there have a decent wine dept? The dept manager should be able to give you a good idea as to what other people hosting similar sized parties are doing. They should also be able to let you know if they offer case discounts. I know Albertson's does. Not sure who else is in your market area.
