I have noticed that many disney brides plan numerous activities and events during the week of the wedding that guest can attend such as a welcome party, Golf, spa, afternoon tea, Hoop de Doo dinner and Aloha dinner show.

I was wandering, is everyone paying the guest way for these events you have planned? Or is it you have them planned and who over wants to participate pay thier own way?
I am already planning a derssert party in which we are paying for everyone. I like to idea of people getting together for dinner at a certain restaurant and have a girls day and have afternoon tea but I can't afford to pay for everyone. What is everyone doing for these types of events? I need advise as I would like to plan some fun things to do during our stay. Would we have to plan it with our coordinator or can we make reservations on our own?

Thanks!

We are having a welcome dinner, a spa date and a day after brunch and we are paying for everything. Then again, we're paying for everyone's rooms and airfare too. Not an inexpensive wedding, let me tell ya!

I say just go with what your budget allows and maybe talk to some of your guests and get their input on what they would like to participate in/pay for.

We had a wishes cruise the night before our intimate wedding and we paid for that and the food and beer for our guests. I also picked up the tab for our MOH and BM's limo's to and from the airport.

We are having a welcome dinner at Ohanas and a "leaving/thank you" event - we are buying everyone tickets to Mickeys very merry christmas party. I am paying for all of these but i only have 24 guest so not a huge guest list, although still pricey!

from the point of view of a bride who is having almost 100 guests: we are not paying for much for our guests. Wish we could but that alone would cost the amount of a wedding. We are paying for thre rehearsal dinner, dessert party the night of the wedding. We are all meeting at PI on thursday night and not paying. We informed everyone about this earlier.

We did a welcome dessert party that we paid for. And everyone went to MVMCP and they all paid their own way. We told everyone about it and what night we were going and everyone decided to go to. Both were a lot of fun, and my wedding trip wouldn't have been the same without them.

I am having a rehearsal dinner = inlaws paying
Tea for ladies only = me pay
recpetion = dad pay
home reception = mom me and fiance pay
I think that it would be hard to have a private event and not pay, BUT if you went to a restaraunt or dinner show (esp the show) you could send them info about the cost of tickets and where to get them and then they would get the hint. If they want to come great, if not they do not have to. Hope that helps you some - I think it just becomes sticky since many people expect you to pay for everything and w/ the private events you do have to pay for in advance. Just do what you want and don't feel like you must offer these things, they will probably want to hit the parks some as well maybe you could all just ride rides together or something!

We're paying for the welcome/rehersal dessert party the day before the wedding and of course the reception, but that's it. We're getting married toward the beginning of the week or so we'll be there, so it's up to the guests to determine what they want to do with that week. Some of them are going home the day after the wedding (including the best man), while others are planning on staying through the week and hitting several of the parks. If people want to get together with us, they have our cell numbers, though we may arrainge a casual dinner the day after the wedding. If we do, we won't be paying for that, we'll just tell everyone where we're going to be and they can show up if they'd like to.
