Hi girls! I need help coming up with ideas for fun songs for our wedding video. We didn't have a first dance and so there are no songs that really have a whole lot of meaning for our wedding. For our preview I asked our videographer what he thought would work best with our footage and he used some song I have never heard of and don't really love. I have a meeting with him on Monday and I know he is going to want to know a specific song we want and I am having a hard time deciding. :confused3

Any suggestions?

I want something that is upbeat and happy.

I didn't know what to pick either so just went with Disney songs.

Hmmm... do you want instrumental or a song with lyrics?
Any movies you both love? Maybe you can pull something from their soundtrack that can go with the preview you have already seen?

Hmmm, are you goig with Disney Songs or what about usig a favorite song of your favorite music group?

Not knowing what type of music you like here is an mixed bunch:

Black Eyed Peas - I've got a feeling
Keith Urban - Making memories of us
Daughtry - Lifetime of laughter
Harry Connick Jr - It had to be You
Elton John - Can you feel the love tonight
Frank Sinatra - Love and Marriage
Ronan Keating - When you say nothing at all
Bob Marley - One Love
Train - Hey Soul Sister
The Beatles - When I'm 64
Keith Urban - Love somebody like you

This is off the Knot, not sure about some of them:

Is the hipster in you urging you toward tunes that are unique, creative, even cutting edge? Mom and Dad may have danced to Johnny Mathis on their wedding day, but that doesn't mean you two can't sway to a more modern beat. Scour forgotten mix CDs and your constantly updated iPod, and then check out our top 30 list.

1. "Alison" (Elvis Costello)
2. "All I Want Is You" (U2)
3. "As" (Stevie Wonder)
4. "Blood Of Eden" (Peter Gabriel)
5. "Crash" (Dave Matthews Band)
6. "Everything I Do" (Brandy)
7. "Forever in My Life" (Prince)
8. "Heroes" (David Bowie)
9. "Ice Cream" (Sarah MacLachlan)
10. "If I Was Your Girlfriend" (Prince)
11. "In Your Eyes" (Peter Gabriel)
12. "Iris" (Goo Goo Dolls)
13. "It Must Be Love" (Madness)
14. "Kiss Me" (Sixpence None The Richer)
15. "Kissing You" (from William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet)
16. "Love Song" (The Cure)
17. "Like Someone In Love" (Bjork)

Thank you so much!! That is perfect and exactly sort of what I was looking for. There are so many songs that I love and when I play them with the preview clip for our video none of them really fit. I know thats because the video is paced for the song it was done with but I am having a really hard time visualizing it and deciding. I just feel so much pressure to have it all decided by tomorrow afternoon so that our meeting with our videographer isn't a waste of his time.

Thanks for all of the help!!

Do you remember the film called The Wedding Singer with Adam sandler in it? He sang a great song to Drew Barrymore called Grow old with you.

Here are the lyrics.

[Robbie Hart (Singing):]
I wanna make you smile whenever you're sad
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad
Oh all I wanna do is grow old with you

I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks
Oh it could be so nice, growing old with you

I'll miss you
Kiss you
Give you my coat when you are cold

Need you
Feed you
Even let ya hold the remote control

So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink
Put you to bed when you've had too much to drink
I could be the man who grows old with you
I wanna grow old with you

Is this any good?

Thank you so much! I am just having one of those crazy freak out moments. I have to make a decision and stick to it and not care too much. Thats what I keep trying to tell myself. Then I keep thinking that 50 years from now we will still be watching this and I don't want to have any regrets.

Why do I put so much pressure on myself??

Thank you all for the suggestions!

Cassie, were you ever a fan of the show "Full House?" we're actually using the song Jesse sings at Teiresias wedding, but the version in his music video of the song "Forever". It is actually a Beach Boys Song he redd with them. Here's the video to it. http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=/&gl=US#/watch?v=d46sWCdmees&client=mv-google. This is on the upbeat song side, but perfect for a Wedding Video. We're using this song as our Walk Down the Isle Song.

My wife is so happy that i found this song for our wedding DVD. The Band is: Unit 4 + 2. The song is: Concrete & Clay. Its on the movie soundtrack to Rushmore. You will be very happy with it. very upbeat and happy. listen to the sample of it on i tunes or whatever you use to download music. :thumbsup2

Thank you guys for all of your further suggestions. I still haven't decided. There are times when I really wish people would just decide for me!!!

I am meeting with our videographer at 1 today. I am going to have the list you guys have all put together for me and talk to him about what he thinks would work best with the footage we have.

I will keep you posted and let you know!

THANK YOU!!! :worship:

and btw youcansmellit, what is it that you can smell?

and btw youcansmellit, what is it that you can smell?

Its from an old comedy record, I never have a problem getting it as a screen name for anything. I hate when I have to be xChris693... so I stuck with youcansmellit. I was using "ipidydafol" but surprisingly I started have trouble getting that.

We had a somewhat "turn-of-the-century" feel to our wedding and wanted songs that reflected that.

In our video, we first had a montage that covered the highlights of the wedding. I used "Little Wonders" by Rob Thomas, because DH loves the song. Then, for the second half it was "L-O-V-E" by Nat "King" Cole.

Then the video goes into more specific sections

Prelude-"Chapel of Love" by The Dixie Cups

Ceremony-It played in its entirety

Pre-Reception-"A Wink and a Smile" from "The Bucket List" soundtrack

Reception-It played by itself through our first dance, father-daughter and mother-son dance. Then they used actual music from our ragtime trio to create a montage. At the end, they used "Dan Higgins" from "The Leatherheads" Soundtrack, which was also used for transitions between the different sections.

Credits-"Into the Sunset" from "The Leatherheads" Soundtrack.

You might find some soundtrack music that captures the feel of your wedding for parts of it. I think it worked very well for us.

I'm so sorry Cassie, not meaning to hijack your question, Heidi, I love the song "Little Wonders". It is on my phone and Im about to play it(although the song makes me cry each & every time I listen to it.

I did a couple videos for my grandparent's anniversary and some projects for my brother. The two songs that seemed to get the best reaction were "Sh-Boom" by The Chords and DJ Earworm's United States of Pop 2009. I'm not sure if that's the kind of thing you're looking for, but I really like both of those songs!

We used Flowers in the Window by Travis. It's upbeat and happy and I love what the lyrics say.
If you go to Randy's site and go to his blog, scroll down to our slideshow (Lori and Eoghan) you can hear it there. Here is the link to his blog page:

Here are the lyrics:

When I first held you I was cold
A melting snowman I was told
But there was no-one there to hold before
I swore that I would be alone for ever more
Wow look at you now
Flowers in the window
It's such a lovely day
And I'm glad you feel the same
Cause to stand up, out in the crowd
You are one in a million
And I love you so
Lets watch the flowers grow

There is no reason to feel bad
But there are many seasons to feel glad, sad, mad
It's just a bunch of feelings that we have to hold
But I am here to help you with the load

Wow look at you now
Flowers in the window
It's such a lovely day
And I'm glad you feel the same
Cause to stand up, out in the crowd
You are one in a million
And I love you so
Lets watch the flowers grow

So now we're here and now is fine
So far away from there and there is time, time, time
To plant new seeds and watch them grow
So there'll be flowers in the window when we go

Wow look at us now
Flowers in the window
It's such a lovely day
And I'm glad you feel the same
Cause to stand up, out in the crowd
You are one in a million,
And I love you so
Lets watch the flowers grow
Wow look at you now
Flowers in the window
Its such a lovely day
And I'm glad you feel the same
Cause to stand up, out in the crowd
You are one in a million
And I love you so
Let's watch the flowers grow
Let's watch the flowers grow

:goodvibes

We used the following for our video background music:
"When You Say Nothing At All"
"When You Wish Upon a Star"
"I've Had the Time of My Life"
"The Way You Look Tonight" and
The love theme from "Somewhere in Time"

The music from our ceremony remained intact on the video
Baby Mine (DH's Mom's entrance)
You've Got a Friend in Me (guys' entrance)
Pachelbel Canon in D (my daughter, MoH, entrance -- from our orignal wedding)
To the Stars (excerpt) (for my entrance)

The music from our reception also remains intact:
When You Say You Love Me by Josh Groban (first dance)
In Your Eyes (a Son's Tribute) (DH and his mom)
My Wish by Rascal Flatts (family dance)
Find Out Who Your Friends Are (me and my BFF who walked me down the aisle)
I Love You Always Forever (cake cutting)
