do you remember who gave the toast at your wedding and what was said?

My BIL was best man. He was starting college and it was SuperBowl time/playoffs.

"Please everyone raise your glasses. To my DB and his new wife. I hope that you both love and support each other thru the years to come. I would also love to have some of the support as I go thru college too. Here's to the Oilers to winning the super bowl!" (When they were still in Houston)

He never made it through college. He dropped out after one year.

Happy Thoughts to all,

My cousin was our best man and after asking everyone to raise their glasses he said here's to Dawn and Heidi.
Dawn is my sister, my husbands name is John

I was at a reception and the best man said

"and they said it wouldn't last"

:rotfl:

At the last in-law wedding in Michigan the (already drunk) best man stood up and slurred "May all your ups and downs be between the sheets". The old ladies gasped and the younger guys laughed. Everyone else was pretty quiet.

At our wedding, I don't remember exactly what was said (I'll have to check the video!), but I do remember it being very nice and appropriate.

My FIL managed to go on and on and ended with "I hope you have lots and lots of babies" followed by this big belly laugh.

He was on his way to being totally smashed so it was a little embarassng.

I don't really remember the toast too much, but when my brother's friend decorated our car he wrote "Lucky" by my ex-husband's window and "Stupid" by mine. I should have listened! :p

Pooh, that is hilarious!!! :earseek:

Well, I left my exH after 3 horrible weeks (he was very abusive, starting the day we signed the papers; we'd been dtaing for 2 years and he literally became a different person after the papers were signed and he got access to my bank account  ). His best friend gave our toast and in front of everyone went into explicit detail about my exH's intimate pasts with other women leading up to some very degrading comments about how I was "the one for him" despite the size of my chest.

 I should have walked out then.

Some of these are rough:( Although "...and they said it wouldn't last" is going into my arsenal for possible future usage;)

We didn't hear a word of what BIL said for our toast and don't have it on video either. He was so worried about it beforehand, we never had the heart to tell him that we totally missed it.

Now, the very tasteless toast I've ever heard was a wedding of a friend of DH...the Best Man got up and simply said "Best of luck to the three of you". The bride was pregnant and (before that point) not a lot of people knew. Bride and Groom and the parents of both were pretty mortified.

This sounds like our wedding. My DH's cousin who was the best man (and was NOT drunk by the way) said something to the effect of.....They'll be many ups and downs but keep it in the bedroom!!! I thought I was going to die...but I guess he was just getting us back because when DH and I cut the cake we smooshed it in the faces of our Best man and maid of honor instead. (Was funny....) :earseek:

My best man was a fellow musician and after playing for several hundred weddings and witnesing all sorts of tasteless behavior, he kept it short, sweet, and appropriate.
