wedding shower open house??

I'm invited to a wedding shower open house. I assumed this meant that you arrive anytime within the time frame on the invite, stay a while and then leave. Now I'm not so sure. What does "open house" mean to you?

I have never heard of an Open House Wedding Shower - but I'm guessing the same as you!

Is it held at the couples new home? They may be calling it an open house because they want people to see their new home...

That is a strange way of wording it! I would assume it's come and go, as well, but would probably show up on the earliest time just in case =)

I had one of these since one of my showers was open to most of the women from my (kind of large) church. Yes, it was a come and go as you please affair. It was held at the home of one of my wedding hostesses. Very nicely done and I really enjoyed it.

I think it means you are inviting more guests than the home can hold , so you hope they come at varied times.

Wedding shower time shares!

For wedding showers that have huge guest lists and too small a budget for a larger venue I guess this makes sense. And its casual tone will allow guests to feel more comfortable about coming and going...I don't like being held captive for too too long at one of these.

hehe - that's exactly how I felt at my OWN shower...held captive! As much as I appreciated everyone coming (and the fact that it was in my parents backyard and my brother was making margaritas like they were going out of style)..it was a very long afternoon!
