I am getting ready to start a small 8x8 scrapbook about my daughter's wedding. I don't want it to necessarily be all about the wedding, but more about the stuff that lead up to it. So far I have come up with the following ideas for pages:

The Proposal
The Engagement Ring
The Wedding Site
The Wedding Dress
Showers
Bacholorette Weekend (no, I didn't go, but I can probably get a picture or two)
The Disney Touches (cake topper & champagne glasses)
Bridesmaids
Groomsmen
Flowergirls
Ring Bearer (our dog!)
The Wedding Rings
The Ceremony
The Reception
The Honeymoon (just details about where they went)

Can any of you come up with any other ideas? Each topic will probably be a two page spread with maybe one or two pictures...mostly journaling about the actual page topic.

Any other ideas?

What about special guests - great grandparents, grand parents, guests from out of town. Flowers, cake. I know these are part of the wedding but some may have some significance.

How about a letter or note from you?

How about the invitation and also what about the prep work. Who put together all those favors, or addressed the envelopes, made the programs. I actually made sure to take pictures of some of the favors and the centerpieces, this way I could put them in my wedding album.

Great ideas! How did I ever forget the invitation and the cakes...especially the groom's cake that melted before it was cut! I like the idea of the letter and also the out of town guests (although most out of town guests were on the grooms side of the family).
Thanks for all the great suggestions!

was there a rehearsal & dinner?

was there a rehearsal & dinner?

Oh my gosh! I can't believe I am already forgetting this stuff...it's only been three weeks! LOL! I definitely need to do a page for the rehearsal and dinner. Thank you for reminding me!

I'm working on an album right now..

How about the newspaper announcement, wedding invitation
Rehearsal
Rehearsal dinner
The Bride getting ready
The bridal party
The Groom and his men
The cake
The first dance
Dad and daughter dance (on the opposing page put the lyrics to the song)
Mom and son dance (opposing page put the lyrics to the song)
Maybe a photo of them leaving the ceremony and arriving at the reception
Did they have a "reception" line (the meet and greet as my kids call it!)
Maybe a page for Mr. & Mrs. to journal how they felt during the ceremony and especially when they were presented to the public for the first time...
(My dh still laughs because JOP married us.. the sun was shining in my face, I was crying, he was crying, and I was shaking so bad he had to hold on to me!)

I'll cry if I type the words to that song...they danced to I Loved Her First...have you ever heard of that one? It's a killer. It was the only time I cried. The first time I heard the song, I cried at the lyrics and that was probably 6 months before the wedding!!! LOL!

Yep, know that song very well!!!!
I actually have a scrapbook page made for my DADDY w/ that song on it.. I have a picture of me little..and I need a new picture of me and Dad..but of course my kids are always climbing on grandpa and you see me trying to tell the kids to behave.. makes for a lovely photo op!

I actually had a van to myself and heard Tim McGraws song.. My little girl, I think that is the name.. I'm going to make it for our DD and DH...

I'd cry to with I loved her first... that is why I cut and paste!! I'm a sap so I'd be crying from the moment she said yes! LOL
You could only imagine how my kids deal w/ life around here.. every accomplishment mom is boo-hooing!

One of the pages that means so much to me in my book is the very last page. My photographer had taken a picture of an envelope that had Lauren & Jeri on it laying on a table at the reception. Turns out that it was from my husband's grandma. I used that as sort of my The End layout. I just love it and it means a lot to my husband that I used that picture with his grandma's handwriting. Especially these days as she's not doing so well.

Anyway, anything you do is going to be great! What a wonderful gift. :thumbsup2

My younger daughter says that she wants to use that one for the father-daughter dance when she gets married. Hopefully we will have a long time to wait before she gets married!!!!

I'm goign to be doing our wedding albums soon (OK, only 17 years late:rotfl: ) and as my dad died when DS(13) was small I'd like to use the words "dance with my father again" (or however it goes) - I expect I can Google them if no-one has them.

How about funny moments? (Like my MIL trying to sit in my seat because it said "Mrs L...", and apart from her the only one she knew was her deceased MIL :lmao: )

Pics of things not usually seen - close-ups of the old...new..borrowed..blue, the shoes, garter

Gifts - piled up or open

I will definitely do the borrowed, blue, etc. She carried my deceased father's wedding ring with a ribbon tied in a bow around it...the ribbon was made from the inseam of my mother's wedding dress.

Great ideas!
