Hey,
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get started with the Disney wedding plans? We are almost positive we will be having the wedding In december 2006 at the Wedding pavilion, but we aren't exactly sure how to get going! Are there any disney wedding books, tapes or brochures other then the tapes provided at disneyweddings.com?

Thank you! ::MinnieMo

First of all Congratulations!!!
You can begin looking at the following websites for ideas for a Disney Wedding and also get information sent to you.

www.yourfairytale.com
http://disneyweddings.disney.go.com/disneyworldweddings/

Disney will not let you reserve a wedding date until a year before. At that time they will reserve the date then 8 months prior to the big day you will sign a contract, a deposit is due and you are assigned to a cordinator.

Thank you! The websites you provided look very useful! I think I remember reading about a tour you can take of the pavilion. Is that true? If so, when is the best time to go on this?

Thanks!:earsgirl:

You can get a tour of the wedding locations by calling and setting up an appointment with a wedding cordinator. I can't find the phone # right now but if I find it I'll post it for you. On the disney wdding website you can request for someone to call you from Disney. If you request for more information then click on what kinda wedding you want (intimate or custom) then click the back button a small window will pop up and ask you if you want to talk by phone, click the button and it will prompt you to put in a phone # and when a good time to call is.
GOOD LUCK!!

Hi! I was reading your posts, and we are in that spot too. We want to have a 2006 wedding as well and I am trying to make sure we are budgeting correctly! The Disney info is helpful, but what about all the extras? Does anyone have info from their wedding-such as prices of welcoming parties and bridal teas. I got the e-book but I am still wondering! Thanks!
Becky

I was wondering all that as well! I was looking on yourfairytale.com at the online budgeting tool, and I was wondering if that was a good tool to use. Is it basically accurate?

Thanks!

the prices on www.yourfairytale.com are pretty accurate. I will give you the prices that I have from a package I just got from Disney about a month ago.
I am doing a custom wedding so if you are doing an intimate the prices may differ. Also these prices do not include tax or gratuity.

Minimum for wedding (M-TH) are $7500 (F-Sun) $10k

Food and beverage minimum (prior to 2pm) $75/person (after 2pm) $100/person.

Florida Marriage license is $88.50

Wedding location wedding pavilion $2200 other locations $1200

Transporation Horse and Landua Coach $1500 (2hrs), GLass Coach $2500 (2hrs includes horses and 3 footman), Vintage Cars $540 and up (3 hrs) Charter bus $78/hr (min 5 hrs), Limo $73/hr (min 3 hrs)

Photography 6hr package $2420; 8 hr pack $3320; $10 hr pack $4475 (these are all min)

Flowers
These are the starting price
bride bouquet $250
Bridesmaid/Maid of honor $125
Flower girl $45
Mother Corsage $30
Tossable bouquet $35

There is a price of more flowers but here are the basics.

Then prices a for entertainment and decor and cartering but I think you have all this info if you have looked at yourfairytale.

I don't know about tea parties or welcoming parties because they don't directly relate to the wedding. I know a lot of people do the fantasmic dessert party and teas in Epcot.

One thing to keep in mind is that you must meet a room min depending on the number of guests that you have at the wedding. If you meet the min then you get a free room on your honeymoon night. If you do not meet the min and the contract was not altered prior to signing it then you will be responsible to pay for the nights that were not used. For example if you 30 guests-you would have to guarantee 25 nights at Disney if your guests only stay for 23 nights then you would have to pay for 2 nights that were not used.

Since both of you are not getting married to 2006 the prices may change slightly but this should get you started.

Good luck

:faint: :faint: :faint: Pardon me while I get up off the floor!! Those Disney wedding prices just kill me! I would have NEVER been able to afford that even when my parents were alive. They could have paid for it, but I wouldn't have let them. For that reason, the price of Disney weddings and vow renewals is why I will only "honeymoon" at Disney. I did it in 1998, 7 years after DH and I got married and I'll be doing it again in 2006 after our vow renewal here on Pensacola Beach. :bride: :love2: :groom:

Best to all of you who can afford it and blessings always!

Denise :happy1: :cool1:

An addendum to your Food and Bev mins. Some locations are actually $125 pp.

Also, none of those prices includes taxes or gratuities and taxe and grats do not count towards your $7500 or $10K min expednitures.

Thanks so much! One more thing I was wondering! I am planning a custom wedding (but a small custom wedding-around 20-25). I am looking to marry in Feb of 2006 and have a trip planned for Feb 2005. Is that too early to book a tour or will they accomadate? I will not even know if I get the date by then but I still want to look. Any thoughts?
Thanks!!!

That is a good question. I guess I got the impression that the tour was available to anyone considering a WDW wedding at any time. Is it required to have all informaion like wedding date, guest numbers, etc.. already planned? Or is it possible to go in with a general idea?

Thanks!::MinnieMo

It is not too early. I was in the same situtation I am planning a wedding for April 28, 2005 but got a tour in early March. You need to call and setup an appointment. We went in and had general ideas of what we wanted and the person that worked with us let us know what they could and could not do. He gave us a lot of new ideas and helpful suggestions. Hope this helps.
