We've hired an outside photographer (Randy Chapman) for three hours, including our ceremony. My questions are:

-How much time should we allow for pictures for just the bride and groom?
-How much time should we allow for group/family pictures?
-What's a good guestimate of how many group shots we can get done in an hour?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi

We've just got married and had Randy as our photographer. We had the three hour package with randy as well. Randy came to me at 10.30 in the morning to do before getting ready shots. Our wedding was at 12 at the WP and it fell like this. The limo picked me up 45 mins before the wedding started it took me to the Wp. Randy had already got there before us so was waiting to capture us getting out of the limo. Tanis our planner then met me, I then had a few shots going to the brides room at the wp. Randy then took pics in there. Then Tanis then starts getting people organised and it all starts from there. It took about 20 mins for Rev jack to pronounce us married. You then walk out of the wp and have pics of your guest congratulating you. Randy will then take you out back to the gardens and do some shots with the castle in the background, you then come back to the wedding pavillion and do your group shots inside etc. Once you've done all that you all then go out side. Your guest then will line up at the entrance of the wp bridge ready to throw petals or bubbles etc. Randy will then capture that. Your guest will then dispurse to the GF whilst Randy takes shots of you both on the beach next to the wp. You then both go to the GF for reception again you have cake cutting pics etc. then we had a bit of cake and left our guest upstairs whilst we had shots around the GF. Randy normal always gives you extra time - he sort of fits with your timings and not the three hours you pay him for. He left us about 2.15 so we had over our time. In totally we have well over a 1000 shots just from him alone. We got a lot of our shots before the reception at the gf started - you be amazed how organised your planner and randy are. They seem to get everyone were they should be without your realising it. Our planner Tanis had everything run smoothly from start to finish so the time with Randy doesn't seem rushed in any form.

If you want to have a nosey at some of our pics then theres loads on randys website or his facebook page under andy and leanne wedding.

Dont worry randy takes loads of shots of everything - i think we have at least 30 or more shots of just doing group shots in the wp. we had 17 people as well. You'll definitely get loads in just three hours.

On the off chance you haven't done this yet, ask Randy! The arndts did our photography and all the times they suggested were spot on.
