Wedding License - UK Brides

Hello,

Sorry for all the random questions but in regards to Wedding License...

Do you have to be in Florida for a set amount of time before you can go to the courthouse for your license or can you just turn up the day after you arrive?

Do you need to make an appointment at the courthouse?

Do I need to do anything in the UK license/registry office wise prior to travelling?

Does the courthouse automatically send you a certified copy of your marriage cert and is it accepted as a formal doc by services such as DVLA etc?

As you can probably tell I'm pretty clueless!!

No, I think that rule is for US brides, but I would go earlier than the day before!

Do you need to make an appointment at the courthouse?

No just turn up - we went before lunch and had no wait we just walked straight in.

Nope

Does the courthouse automatically send you a certified copy of your marriage cert and is it accepted as a formal doc by services such as DVLA etc?

Your officiant will return it to the courthouse after the wedding (we had RevKev) and you will get a copy sent in the post ours came about 3 weeks after our wedding (although this was over Christmas and New Year). You can pay for more copies through your officiant if you want

You also have the choice to take it back to the courthouse yourself after the wedding. We chose to do this so that we didn't have to wait for them to mail the certificate. It took us about 10 minutes to get all the copies we wanted $3.00 per copy.
