Wedding Licence Help Please xx

Hi can you help???

I really do not know what to do about my wedding licence. I am a UK bride. I have been thinking about getting everything sorted before I leave but the notary here wants £60 ($120) just to sign my papers then when I add on the $195 licence fee plus international postage I am looking at almost $350 - $400 for something that will cost $100 if we do it in person.

I am thinking of going to Osceola County Courthouse on Friday 26th September 2008 to get my licence.
Is that a holiday?
How far is it from Disney?
How long will it take to get licence?
What actually happens?
Do we only need passport or will we need other ID such as birth certificates, driving licenses

Thanks for your help
xx

Hi!

What $195 license fee is this? The various counties in Florida only charge between $93-$97 for a license. Are you using a license service?

I recommend just going to the courthouse on that Friday. It's not a US holiday. I believe the taxi ride takes less than 30 minutes, and most people are in and out very quickly. You both will need your passports but not your birth certificates.

Check out Summer's trip report - she's from the UK and picked up their license when they got to Florida. :thumbsup2

Hi, another UK bride, we are going to get our licence when we arrive, probably round 3rd Sep. I have heard that the Osceola courthouse is normally quiter.

Think I will just take every peice of formal docs i.e passport birth certificate and anything else in between so I know in my mind I have every base covered!

We're from the UK aswell and have decided to get our licence once we get to Orlando. One thing I'm curious about was whether we have to book an appointment or do we just turn up and join a queue??
