I am so proud of our wedding invitations, and I just finally got around to taking a picture of them!!

I made them myself out of wedding invitations from Target, a gold vellum and ribbon set from Michael's, and I drew the castle myself "inspired" by Cinderella's. I cut the vellum for each invitation, and tied each ribbon. I forget how many I made!! (There were over 280 people invited.) Anyway, something like this would have cost WAAAAY too much money. So we took the money we saved and used it for our disneymoon! YAY! :yay:

Here it is:

That looks great! I am going to try to make my own invitations too. I found these things called Envelopments - it is a line of stationary which is folded in interesting ways and also has pockets for inserts. I just have not found anything I like - I don't know if I will save money doing it (the basic Envelopment materials are a little pricey) but I think I will get exactly what I want. I picked up some samples so I could try printing on the paper.

Wow those invites are beautiful and I can't believe you drew that castle - wonderful work.

To Lisacope, where did you get the samples of the Envelopments? I have seen some invites on these board where people used these and they are great. I would love to get some blanks and try to make my own invites.

I love the gold edge on the invite, its a great touch :thumbsup2

I got the samples at some stores in my area - I went to the paper zone and also a small stationary store near my house. You can use the store locator on the web site to find places near you. You can also go to mygatsby.com and order samples.

I tried to print on the envelopes and cardstock last night and it didn't work too well! I am using the metallic colors and I don't think my inkjet printer will print on them. I am going to try going to kinko's.

Thanks for the info. I was concerned about printing on the cards and envelopes (that it might be to thick to run through my printer smoothly). Good luck with your printing job and keep us posted on the outcome.
