Wedding in Indianapolis question

We are going to a niece's wedding in Indianapolis in mid Sept. The wedding is actually in Carmel IN. It is a Catholic ceremony at 2pm then a reception at 6pm.

I have no idea what to wear. How cool is the weather in mid Sept? What is the typical attire for weddings in this area? And since the reception is later in the evening I am assuming the dress for that would be more formal. ????

DH will be wearing a suit to the ceremony and reception.

I suggest posting this question at xoxoclosetgirl.blogspot.com or google fab finds under 50 ...both are Indy area fashonista bloggers who would love to help. I'm by no means a fashionista but cause it's Carmel I'd err toward fancy... The first girl is from SC so you have a connection that way.

Where in Carmel is the reception?

As to weather...it will probably be somewhere between the low 70's and low 80's during the day. As fall is approaching, the temps can vary a lot from day to day so it may well be 90 or it may be 65.

The weather is seldom average around here.....it is usally 10 degrees above or below what ever they claim the average is on a given date.
