Hi! I am trying to plan my wedding for next May, and our dream would be Disney World, but we are thinking maybe go somewhere else and stay in Disney for our honeymoon. Does anyone have any ideas of a good place to get married outside of Disney? Thanks for your help!!:goodvibes

We got married at our church. No great ideas here :confused3

Best wishes to you and have a great time in Disney however it is spent.

Our church in Celebration (Community Presbyterian) hosts A LOT of weddings for "out of towners"

Hi Shalanel
Welcome to Dis we have a whole forum dedicated to Weddings and Honeymoons!

Do you have any more info to help narrow it down? Do you want to get married in a church? On the Beach? Must Be Disney? In a garden? Your Budget? Do mean next May as in next month? Or next May as in 2009?

hi! thanks for your help so far! May 2009, and I think we would really like to get married outside, its going to be just the DF and his sister and her husband and me, so a small intimate wedding. I do know about the weddings and honeymoon link, I spend almost every day over there!!!:lmao: I just thought maybe I could find some ideas over here too! Thanks for your help!!

Hmm intimate garden wedding with four people. As this is the budget board will toss out Disney's offical weddings or swalphin weddings you will find out about them on the wedding board and they are not a budget wedding even for a intimate package.

How about :

All have great garden locations for weddings or just photos for after a court house wedding.

How formal are you going? What part of the Disney wedding are you really interested in, maybe you can just book that and not the full deal?

I have to tell you what a friend of mine did ... Disney wasn't offering what she really wanted even if she went custom and was charging a crazy amount for what they offered and she couldn't afford it. She didn't want a court house wedding so she splurged on a really nice room and paid a notary to come to the room to perform the service, they were married on the balcony, paid for a Disney for an official photo shoot at on the Grand floridan's grounds for after (she told Disney they were married off site as it was against the rules at the time to have a photo shoot with out a wedding package otherwise... I know bad girl but she got the casual intimate wedding she wanted!), then had a dinner at V & A where she had a mini wedding cake special ordered for dessert. She said every thing added together was about half of what disney was asking for just the wedding.

The Swan and Dolphin have weddings on their property too. You might want to look into that, it would still be technically on Disney property but without the Disney price tag.
