Hi everyone.

I have not been on this board for awhile, since our plans for a VR kinda went poof about a year ago. But I'm back, and hopefull will be able to start planning again soon.

Anyway, when (and if) it ever happens, I want a dress with some color! I found this one on line and I think it is just gorgeous.

I'd like it better if it wern't strapless, but that's another post!

Anyway, if you've come across any gowns with some color in them (a lot or a little) post them here!

My gown just has a teensy bit of colour. It has blue crystals on the bodice :) . I'm wearing a matching blue crystal necklace and I'm thinking of getting a blue trim on my veil. I wish I had a pick of it :(

Wedding dresses with colour are really popular now. I've seen a lot of dresses with pink or red accents.

Danvers I was about to post a pic of that dress!! It was the first one I tried on and I just loved it...I just couldn't figure out how to make it work well for our August wedding though. Christmas, Valentine's day, July 4th...all of those I could figure it out for, but not August...It is absolutely beautiful though.

It would have looked great for August :) I'm sorry it didn't work out for you :(

OOh, it's gorgeous, Danvers.
Thank you! It was really funny...two days after we got engaged, I looked online at David's Bridal...he and I both saw the dress and said that was it. I went and tried it on the next day and bought it on the spot. Yes, he knows what it looks like, but he didn't go with me so he has no idea what *I* look like in it....whew! :) His Mom thinks that he doesn't know what dress I have....oops ;) I guess I was pretty lucky...it was the one and only dress I tried on and didn't search for months for one!

I also wanted a dress with some colour, I don't like to wear white, it washes me out too much. Here's my dress, you can't really tell from the picture but it is a light gold colour with burgundy flowers:

I really had my heart set on having a white dress...but when I tried them on, Like Chickkypoo, it really washes me out..I looked dreadful
I chose a pale ivory with lots of red. Ive posted a pic of it on the 'Show us your dress' thread. I love dresses with colour now Id tried them on but must admit I wasnt too keen before! :flower:

I had the same problem with white so mine is a pale gold with embroidery on the bodice.
Aurora - that dress is fantastic! I love the way people pick such unique and gorgeous dresses for their FTWs. Can you not get a dressmaker to add in some spaghetti straps?

Oh yeah - have you actually tried a strapless dress? I didn't want one as I don't like going strapless, and yep you've guessed it the dress I fell in love with has no straps and looks great - and it's a bodice with bones in the front so I have no fear of it falling down ;0)

Danvers -- I am still trying to decide which dress, but one of the top contenders is the one that you have selected, except that it is Ivory with Champagne (where yours is Red)

It is a fantastic dress!

Thanks! I think my main aversion to strapless is that EVERYONE seems to be wearing strapless now, and I like to escape the cookie cutter. But then, with all that pink, it really wouldn't look like everyone else's anyway! I've never tried on a strapless dress, actually. If I could find this dress, I'd at the very least try it!

Aurora I was against wearing strapless too. When I put it on I knew it was the dress. It fit perfect and I didn't need to wear an undergarment either. It never moved the 3 times I wore it!

my sister was married in june of '03. initially, she wanted to wear an all red gown, but dad said he wouldn't walk her down the aisle if she did. ;) here is the first and only dress she tried on...

she really did look beautiful in it! and her bridesmaids...we all wore a solid red dresses that laced up in the back. i wish i had a picture of the back of her gown...it also laced up the back...
