Wedding gift ideas for a Disney couple

One of my best friends is getting married soon. He and his bride-to-be are both big time Disney fans, and will be celebrating their honeymoon at WDW.

I haven't gotten them a gift yet. I don't want to just get them something from their wedding registry, because I want to give them something personal/meaningful/memorable.

So, I thought that I'd look for something Disney related, or something they could do or enjoy at Disney on their honeymoon.

I was going to get them tickets to Cirque, but his (the groom) parents already got them tickets.

I also thought about getting them the bride and groom mickey ears, with their names on them to give them now, and then having a gift basket prepared and sent to their room for their arrival, but I have no idea what I'd have put in the basket.

I also considered signing them up for a tour, or something like that, but I know in the past, they've never been much interested in doing something like that.

So, any ideas? They're going the week of Thanksgiving. Are there any special, ticketed events going on then?

I also thought about getting them tickets to the Wishes Dessert Party, or something like that, but is it possible to pay for that for someone else in advance? How would that work?

Any ideas are appreciated.

Thanks!

We were staying at Port Orleans French Quarter and someone had booked us a horse and carriage ride around the resort the night of our wedding. It was really sweet and romantic to just be the two of us going around the beautiful resort. Just an idea if they are staying there.

Does it have to be something while they are at Disney?

One of my favorite gifts we received as a wedding present was a share of Disney Stock from One Share. Beautifully framed, with a plaque that says "May the happiest place on earth always be in your heart and home."

There is actually a basket you can get from Disney floral that includes the groom and bride ears, and I believe a bottle of wine and a few other treats which would be nice. I think a tour is also a great option, or another suggestion is a spa package that includes massages.

Mickeys very merry Christmas party is the special "hard ticket" event going on during that time of year. Maybe just even a generous amount in Disney gift cards for them to use towards meals/souvenirs? Or buy them a couples massage at one of the resort spas.

Eta: you can book a meal or reservation for the dessert party in their names, print out the confirmation, and give them Disney (or visa or Amex) gift cards to cover the cost in a nice card.

We visit Disney often, and I'd like any of these things. Hope this helps!

During our honeymoon some friends had pre-arranged a surprise delivery to our room coordinated through Disney Florist. It was bath/spa products, gourmet chocolates, personalized bath towels, a dozen roses and rose petals scattered in a heart shape on the bed and around the room. There were also candles (battery operated) throughout the room and a tinkerbell night light. It was a really nice surprise that we could both enjoy there, and take home (like the towels!).

Also, I know I would have been thrilled if someone gave us Disney Dollars.

Maybe you could even consider a collectable, like a nice Lenox figurine or piece of Disney art.

disney gift card - then they can put it towards anything on the honeymoon! even the disney honeymoon registry essentially boils down to a gift card in whatever amount.

Lots of great suggestions from the ladies of the board...now I'm going to be contrary.

The reason people create a registry is because those are the things they hope to receive. If all the guests went the route of "I want to ignore the registry and get something special/meaningful" then the couple doesn't get the things they actually want and/or need. I find that I remember who gave me the things that I use every day from my (gulp) first wedding almost 10 years ago and still find them special. Like my Kitchen Aid mixer and my amazing All Clad cookware.

(I can also tell you who gave me the stuff I returned...)
