Wedding Gazebo or Sunrise Terrace

We are looking at April 2011 for our wedding at WDW and aren't going back until September (this year) so won't be able to check out the venues in person until then. We are looking at an escape wedding with a maximum of 8 guests (10 including us).

I really like the Wedding Gazebo and a friend of mine got married there and all the photos of this location are amazing (hers and other DIS Brides) but I can't seem to find many non stock photos of the Sunrise Terrace at Wilderness Lodge, is this because it isn't very popular? Or as I'm worried about is it because it is quite a dark location and the photos aren't great?

I would love to see more Sunrise Terrace photos and pros and cons for both locations. At the moment WG is my favourite and my OH likes ST, which would you choose?

There haven't been as many recent brides on here posting that were married at Sunrise Terrace, but I know Jandj is still around. Try to do a search for her thread.PS-we loved the gazebo !!

The wedding gazebo seems to be more public because it's in the courtyard of a hotel. Hope this helps!

disneybex - I replied to your PM. Sunrise Terrace is small and I don't think you can fit more than 10 guests plus bride and groom. We had only one attendant, but you could fit a couple bridesmaids and a couple groomsmen. Our wedding was 4 years ago and I know a couple things have changed on Sunrise Terrace - they recently painted it (we visit our wedding site about once a month since we live pretty close), changed or painted the seating benches, and they removed the garbage can. For our wedding I had to cover the garbage can with a tablecloth and had flowers in a vase placed on top so it just looked like a table. Now that's gone so it's not an issue anymore. We chose the Terrace because it's outdoors but a lot more private than SBP or the Gazebo. We live in Florida so we didn't want the tropical feel of Sunset Pointe. We fell in love with the Terrace the first time we saw it!

The cake cutting is inside WL, just inside Sunrise Terrace:

We had DPS and LOVED them! Ty was our photographer and I cannot say enough nice things about him. We absolutely love our pictures! Also, our friends and family took TONS of pictures and they all came out fine.

Good luck with your decision! I'm sure no matter which location you choose your wedding will be lovely! Sunrise Terrace is probably the least popular location, so I don't think you'll have any problem getting your date if you wait to do a site visit in Sept.

Did you upgrade your Escape cake? - it's absolutely lovely!!

Thank you, yes, we did upgrade our cake. I desperately wanted a square cake with edible flowers. It was exactly what I wanted! The upgrade was $265, and we had a ton left over, but it was gorgeous and delicious, so no regrets. They gave us the Mickey & Minnie cake topper in a separate box.

I think Sunrise Terrace is so gorgeous! It was my first choice, but I knew we would have too many guests. I love the pics posted here, and would love to a PJ/TR of another bride using it!
