wedding favors

I also did the M&M's for DD's graduation. You can order plain ones int he same colors to add to your personalized ones to cut costs.

Yes, I did this too. I ordered some plain ones to cut costs.

I hate to admit it since I spent a lot of time thinking about favours but most of the ones I've gotten haven't been useful. Anything other than candy or chocolate gets tossed eventually. Favours aren't that popular or necessary in my circle so we went with tiny jars of honey. They were cheap and went with our fall theme.

Right now the top choices for a wedding favor (from all your replies-thanks!) are a sugar cookie (using my 87 year old mom's famous recipe) probably in a flower shape due to the garden theme decorated w/ names and date, possibly flowers on it as well and placed in a bag with a ribbon and on the ribbon placing a card mentioning a donation to a selected charity has been made in honor of all the wedding guests.

That sounds so nice..it would be so special to use your mom's recipe!!!
Hope you have a wonderful wedding!!

I don't know if this has already been posted. But for my wedding I'm ordering votives from Yankee Candle that you can pick the scent, pick the design label, can put your names and date on the label, pick what you want to wrap the candle with (tulle, etc.), and pick what ribbon to tie it with. I thought these would be cute inside of a generic votive holder. I have received CD's, I really don't listen to them and sometimes wonder what the couple were thinking (or drinking ;) ) when they picked some of the songs. :teeth: I also went to one of my cousin's weddings that was asian themed and they had the cutest little chinese take-out boxes with their name on the outside and a gourmet fortune cookie on the inside. That was really cool..Good luck!

My cousin is getting married next month. For her favors she's giving a scented candle (color of brides maid's dresses) in a mini wine glass. Their names and date are written on it in fancy script with a silver paint pen. I love the scent of the candle.

Here's a picture.

Most people don't do favors around here, which I like because usually they are something I can't use, like a candle. Anyway, my SIL bought a bunch of peppermint patties, the small round ones, and had a label made up with their names and wedding date. They had these in jars on the tables and also scattered around the tables. It gave people a few mints to eat after dinner and it was inexpensive.

Zandy 595 I think thats a very attactive gift...thanks for sharing the picture. Those little charms seem to be quite popular now.

NeverlandClub23 I have seen those personalized Yankee candles in their catalog...I like that idea also. I think tulle is such a simple yet pretty thing to wrap stuff in w/ a nice ribbon. We picked up a large bolt of tulle on sale this week at Michael's. My daughter wants to decorate the trellis in her outdoor wedding with it.

My friend last Sunday had cany bars as her favors. They were "Love" Chocolate bars, the way the L in love was written- along with a little Cupid, it looks like it says Dove Chocolate. The front of the bar has their names and the date of the wedding. On the back where the nutritional information would be was this:
Serving Size: 1 happy couple
Bride's name
Groom's name
MOH (me!)
BM
Date
Reception Site

Underneath that was listed "additional ingredients" which were the names of the rest of the bridal party. I thought it was an adorable idea. Plus, the chocolate was delicious! She searched online and found the company's website.
