I am just wondering what sort of response you got from CMs etc. when/if you and you and your DH/DW wear the Mikey and Minnie wedding ears????
Also, did thet infact discontinue the tradition white brides cap style hat? Is the headband the only ting available now?

My DW and I got a huge response from CM's and regular park visitors. We heard Congratulations every 2 minutes and sometimes people would give us their fast passes. Some CM's also gave us a FP when we walked up to a ride. They felt that since it was our honeymoon we shouldn't have to wait ;). you also hear people whispering all the time "look I think they just got married" :listen:

We ended up getting a lot of little extras and even free deserts at some restaurants.

My wife and I bought our wedding ears at WDW a year before we got married and took them on our honeymoon which was at DL.

We were the only ones in the park with them as it turns out they don't sell them in California any more. Because of this, we got SOOOOO much attention from the CM's! It was great!

Best one was on the Jungle Cruise, where the guy said "in the event of the boat capsizing, the people in the bride and groom hats can be used as flotation devices!"

We also got tons of congratulations from other guests. We ended up only wearing them on our first day because we felt we were hogging the limelight a little... plus I've got a funny shaped head (one size fits all my foot!) and the hat wasn't comfortable to wear all the time.

Actually they do still sell them in DL, my fiance and I bought them this Feb. since we won't be back until the day after the wedding and we didn't want to risk not getting them.
I am glad someone asked this because we plan on wearing them and were not sure what the response would be.
Also I do agree about the one size not fitting all. My fiance does have a pretty big head and he can barely get the top hat on so I don't think he will wear it for too long.

Well, I'll admit that our honeymoon was in 2004 (in fact it was exactly two years ago tomorrow that I was wearing the hat!) so they may have started stocking them again since. But when we went into a shop with them on the staff were all "wow, we haven't seen any of those in ages..."

We got a whole lot of congratulations and a card at one of the restaurants.

I think it is important NOT to expect anything to avoid disappointment. Some people get free stuff, some people don't; it all depends on whos working and when you are there. Either way it is a blast, though my DH said the groom hat is way too small for an actual grown man, as did a few of our other friends who Disneymooned.

If you want them ahead of time you can order them from merchandise services and have them mailed to your home; we wore ours for our Wedding Rehearsal and on the plane. Have a wonderful time!

DW and I got a very good response as well. As others have stated, we got several congratulations and lots of attention.

The CM doing the beginning of the Honey I Shrunk the Audience show pointed us out to the whole crowd and made them applaud us. They worked it into the themeing too, but, I am sorry to say, I don't remember exactly how.

If you aren't embarassed by the attention, it is a really fun way to let everyone know you just got married.

We got a TON of attention from the CM's and other guests. People would stop us and yell congratulations. It was lots of fun. Some fun stuff that happened: we got an entire car to ourselves at the Great Movie Ride and Maelstrom, free dessert at Le Cellier, pulled to the front of the line at Space Mountain and a couple of free FP's from CM's. Somewhere (the Tiki room?) the CM made us kiss while the crowd counted to ten. Oh and in the Stars & Motor cars parade the guy from Marry Poppins took off his cap and mouthed Congratulations at me when we made eye contact....that was pretty cool.

I wish they were selling the headbands with the viel when I was there on my honeymoon. The cap thing was a total PITA that I had to clip on with bobby pins and readjust after everyride. I can't imagiane ANYONE could wear that thing without hair pins.

I am such a ham so I love the ide of people noticing us and congratulating us!!! I never thought that you would actually GET things from people! Cool if it happens!

The beanie style wedding ears are no longer available at WDW. They do have the headband variety.

Same for us. It was so much fun interacting with people on our honeymoon!

My DD-4 wanted the bride ears so bad on our recent trip. She would see them in about every store we went in and she would beg me to get them for her. I kept telling her that only new brides wore those ears. On our last night there we went in the princess store right outside Voyage of the Little Mermaid and she again went straight to the bride ears. She looked up at me and "Mommy, please. I am going to be a bride someday"!! Needless to say, I bought her the ears. She wore them proudly and loved it when someone would ask her if she just got married!! :)

my DD and soon to be son in law got engaged last sept in WDW

he planned a whole surprise trip my DD knew nothing about it until they were going to the gate at the airport!!!

at that point he told her he had gotten her a brick and surprised her with the trip to see it!! DD fell for it!!!!

they got the B&G hats--and had more fun wearing them--

lots of attention--front cars on some rides lots of congrats!!!

people would offer to take pics--they got some really nice ones--

they even wore the hats on the plane home--

they're getting married 8-5-06 and the bridal dance is A wish is a dream your heart makes :cloud9: and they're wearing the hats for that too

When DH and I Disneymooned  in May 2000, we had our Just Married ears too. Mousekeeping noticed them in our room and left us a small cake and a card signed by Mickey and Minnie with pictures of them in formal clothes. :lovestruc ( Looks great in our scrapbook cause we had a Mickey themed wedding.) In the food court at CBR, they gave us a small cake also. Most of the attention came when CM's made others applaud when we were getting on rides. :wave2: I was little blown away by the attention. After a day or 2 it got a little much, so we stopped wearing them. It was fun while it lasted.

We got a great response with the wedding ears on our Honeymoon! Lots of well wishes from CM's. We also received a few fast passes and free dessert. I liked the ears, they were a lot of fun, a woman even asked to take our picture because she thought they were so cute. My dh admits now, that he felt like a "dork" and that he only wore them to make me happy.

I saw the cap style ears, but that was in 2004.... Personally I went for the headband. It's easier to wear.
