Wedding Colors? How did you pick and what are they?

So now that I can start to plan my own Disney wedding (yay!:cool1:) first thing I feel I want/need to do is establish a color scheme to work with. I mean everything wraps around wedding colors, right?

I have no idea where to start though!

So many colors pop in my head...

Main thing is that the wedding would be in December. I don't want the colors to look out of place. That seems to give me the most problem. I love the color chocolate brown, I think it looks classy with light blue. But I'm not sure if that'll work with the time.

Another option was green and purple. Again I felt it didn't work with the time of year.

Only thing I can think of that doesn't scream "Christmas" is a bluish color scheme (for winter). I don't know if that's exactly what I want to go with though.

We know we want the ceremony at SBP (Boardwalk has a special place for us) and I was thinking maybe Atlantic Dance Hall for the reception, but not sure..

So what about you guys? What are you doing?

a lot of people have the misconception that you have to use Christmas/winter colors but you can actually use any color, it's what you love and ur future hubby love...we are having a Jan. wedding and we are using Blush/Ivory/Black...I would of used the same color in any month...so go with what you love

I think your location will play a bigger part in your colours then the time of the year will.

I agree, pick colors you like. Our wedding is in August but our colors are pewter and lavender. The girls will be wearing pewter gray dresses and the floral will be shades of purple and ivory, and lavender will be an accent color. I had seen gray dresses before and really liked the way it looked with the bride's gown and the groom's tux. Then I just thought of other colors I liked that I hadn't seen in friends' or family's weddings recently.

I agree - pick the colors you like best, and don't worry about the season. :goodvibes After all, Orlando in the winter feels like spring everyplace else! ;)

It can be helpful to have three colors, including one neutral (says the bride who had orange, turquoise and fuchsia as her colors ) so that it isn't so matchy-matchy. But, really, if you pick colors that make you happy, it will come together naturally.

We're getting married in December, but are steering clear of the obvious Christmas/Winter theme colors. We're holding our ceremony at SBP with reception at LSS. Our colors are Navy Blue and Yellow, with lime green touches (thanks to standard linens for LSS). DF is in the Navy and his favorite colors is blue and my favorite flower is the yellow rose, so that's what we're going with. Originally, we were thinking of a spring beach wedding, but thanks to the timing of the Navy, we moved it up to December, so I had to alter my overall theme, but the colors still work. We're probably going to look crazy doing our seaside spring inspired ceremony in the middle of December, but oh well. Whatever colors you pick, it will be yours and that's all that really matters. Good Luck!

I am having light blue and burnt orange.:lovestruc

We are getting married at Vero Beach in the fall so I thought those colours would work well and I love them together.
I am having burnt orange gerbera daisies tied with light blue ribbon. My wedding cake is light blue and decorated with edible seashells.:thumbsup2

My dress is ivory so I am going to liven that up with a blue necklace and the boutonnieres will be orange to match my bouquet.

Oh and I am having a beach theme with regards to favors etc.

My colours are chocolate brown, champagne, ivory and blush/dusky pink as an accent.

I just picked them because I like those colours!

My colors are chocolate brown and pink...more brown then pink though as I didn't want the pink to take over my pictures...we are having the girls wear chocolate brown dresses and the men will be in khaki suits. The flowers will be pink.

Ours are pistachio and rose.

I had to have pink (I am a very pink kinda girl) but both my SILs weddings were fushia with light pink, so didn't want to be the third of that scheme, also my 2 BMs are very fair and quite rosy cheeked and pink could wash them out a bit. I also have to have pink floral (just love pink flowers!!!) and didn't want floral and my BMs dresses to clash.

I've always loved pink and green together, but also considred pink with cinderella blue and aqua, i printed a couple of schemes off and let DF pick his favourite. He chose the green, and it work well as they are the colours in the WP. :)

I want white/silver and either Hot pink or an aqua/turquoise and at the moment im leaning more towards the aqua/turquoise but wouldn't have a clue then what flowers to pick.
Oh well plenty of time to decide. I agree with others pick colours that you like, they don't have to be winter/christmas colours just because thats the time of year of the wedding :)

I really like the idea of chocolate brown and light blue and I think it would definitely work for a winter wedding - especially the crispness of the blue.

We have chosen dusky pink with a dark silver with perhaps a hint of a darker lilac for an April wedding.

We chose it because DF would like a grey suit (not sure of the tone yet) and I really like dusky pink (which is a darker, not so pastel toned pink) and I saw pictures on here (not sure who it was) who had lilac with pink and it looked great :goodvibes

We were married at the WP and had almost all our events centered around the GF. So, I kinda wanted to keep to the style and theme of the place. But, my favorite color is purple (more of a lavender purple), so I went with lavender with mauve, pink, ivory, peach, and sage accents.

I went with pink and gold. Gold because it was the sash on my dress and because I had found the most fabulous gold shoes and pink because I like pink. I enjoyed the combination!

Go with what you like, regardless of the season!

My favorite color is green...so I picked shades of grass and pistachio.

I say go with your favorite but remember, Christmas decorations go up in November..

I got married in December at SBP and had orange and royal blue. They were my favorite colors and DH too. I didn't care about the season. I used what I wanted and reccomend you do the same :goodvibes

After chaning my mind many times, I went in search of a picture that I liked for inspiriation. Then built an inspiration board around it.

We will be getting married in December. I picked blue because it's my favorite color. I also really want to get very 'holiday' themed flowers and tie in as much Disney Christmas magic as I can.
