My heart dropped when I saw your title too, I thought much worse that you had called off the wedding. I am sorry that your plans have been thrown awry, but as you have said, on the bright side, you are a year out, and have PLENTY of time to replan. Definitely get with lvs eyeore, her vow renewal is sounding really really special and lovely.

Oh no! I am so sorry to hear about your wedding plans being wrecked by the closing! Have you considered a Intimate Wedding at Disney--you can add on to the regular 8 person package (up to 13 people, I think) to accomodate your guest list. Also, another option would be a wedding at the Swan--their Just Marry department is supposed to be very helpful and doesn't have all the minimums of a Disney Custom Wedding. PM me if you need more details, and I'll help as much as I can.

Thank you all for the support and wishes. It is definitely NOT as serious as the title sounds! It is a year away and we now have a LOT of places to look into. Thank you lvs for PMing, I woke Holly up to read it to her. She said she'd reply in the morning.

I am not too concerned about the deposit. There is plenty of time. At least we were not cancelled a week or two before the Big Day!

You know, I know you said you didn't want to spend a lot of money on a Disney wedding for 10 people, but have you actually called and spoken tot hem about it? I dthink they are pretty helpful in planning something within budget.

Once when we were there, a wedding was taking place on the gazebo on the Boardwalk, overlooking the water...you know, the one on your left as you are walking towards Epcot. It was taking place at dusk, and it was really very lovely, with the lights just coming on around the Boardwalk etc. It was a very intimate wedding...there looked to be about 15 people there, and Mickey and Minnie as guests, all dressed up in formal wear. I guess my point is that from what I understand, they'll do a lot of different types of weddings, not just the chapel with the Cinderella coach thing. Did you ever think about a beach wedding at the Poly????

Good luck you guys (I, too, was startled at the title - whew! glad it's not THAT bad!) I'm sure you'll be able to find some place wonderful for your wedding.

(I wondered what that little "gazebo" at the EPCOT end of the Boardwalk was used for!)

I am so sorry you had to cancel your wedding at Cypress Garden. It sure sounds like it would have been a lovely spot to get married in. I'll be sending good thoughts and keeping my fingers crossed that something even more magical comes along for you two.

Thanks again for all of the leads, everyone! I'm sorry my title sounded more serious.... I didn't realize when I wrote it that it could be construed any other way.... In my mind, US calling things off is just not a possibility! I'm sure Ted will agree!

We did contact WDW and there are so very many limitations on a Disney Intimate..... I just didn't want to be so constrained, in location, days of the week, etc. If we could have made it work, we would have. Any changes you make to the Intimate Wedding adds MUCHO dinero and $10,000 for only 10 guests was not what we had in mind....

Cypress Gardens was quite a bit more affordable, and hte package took care of everything from flowers and photography to the minster and the music. We were going to follow it up with dinner and a dessert party at Epcot (our little bit of Disney).

I think the hardest thing is that we went to FLA with finding a place to get married our goal in February. It stinks that we have to make another trip... we looked at Cypress Gardens first, loved it and decided not to look anywhere else.

HI! Soooo sorry about your news! Have you thought about Jane at Gifts of a Lifetime? We used her several yrs ago for a vow renewal on the beach at the Poly ... really nice. I know she used to also do " real" weddings. She was super to work with. I have used her several times. You may even be able to do something onsite. I know she is MUCHO less than disney weddings! Don't rule out a Disney Wedding! Check on an intimate wedding at either Sunset Point at the Poly or at the Boardwalk. DW and I were married at Sunset Point in 2000 and it was relatively inexpensive (compared to the Wedding Chapel which was entirely out of our price range). The intimate weddings are for situations just like you describe - small number of guests. We got married in May and the weather was absolutely gorgeous!
