Wedding Cake with Nut Allergies

As I'm in the very beginning stages of planning I wanted to see if any other brides had this problem. I'm highly allergic to all nuts and wasn't sure if I will be able to eat my own wedding cake. I know Disney makes almond and peanut butter flavors so I'm worried about cross contamination.

I've been to Disney several times and they have always been great with my allergies but they usually make me a special dessert. Normally I wouldn't mind but this is my wedding cake so I want to eat it and not have a separate dessert. I deal with a limited food menu all the time and just want this one day that I'm not reminded of my allergy.

Has any other bride had this problem?

I alerted the GF Bakery of my Nut Allergy. Since Peanuts are not a Nut (they're a legume/bean) I don't have any problems with them. Just let them know--they're very good about it. That sucks that you're allergic to both!

My future brother-in-law is highly allergic as well--At our cake tasting, we were told that he should have a separate dessert, because even the cakes we chose (lemon, chocolate) are made with almond extracts!

I would just double check with Disney, I'm sure they could make something for you though! :wizard:

I am vegan so I am doing all cupcakes and getting them through Babycakes. Babycakes is located at Downtown Disney and makes only vegan products. They are absolutely delicious. I don't know if they are nut free, but you might want to check with them since they do cater to different allergies. They have been amazing to work with and may be able to do a small cake for you. You can reach them at 407-938-9022.

I was wondering if they would be able to because I know Disney doesn't allow outside food but Babycakes is on property. I haven't tried babycakes yet myself but have read that they only bake with coconut which I'm not allergic to. We are headed down in October for a trip and I wanted to go over and check them out as I've heard nothing but great things about them.

Thanks for the tip!
