Wedding but no honeymoon at Disney

Hello all. I'm new to the boards and to Disney so I need a lot of help. We're getting married next November on a Monday. We are trying to find a relaxed yet elegant place to have our rehearsal dinner on Disney. Our party consists of 15 to 20 people since we're having an intimate wedding. There are 5 kids so if you know of a good place that could incorporate all of these things that would be a huge help!

I recommend Spoodles, at the Boardwalk. It's a nice sit down place, great location, good food, and it's definitely kid friendly. You should be able to request advanced dining reservations 180 days prior. And/Or you could call the restaurant and ask the manager if he can make sure you are all seated together - they may warn about this when you call reservations.

Thanks for the welcome. We're getting married at the Boardwalk. We're not going to have a real reception since its only going to be 15 people. I will definately check out Spoodles. What kind of food do they have? When you say kid friendly, what did you mean? I know that we wanted kind of a private place with out a lot of kids running around since that is the place we are going to be doing the gifts to the wedding party.

every restaurant at disney has kids. i agree with others suggestions though on spoodles at the boardwalk, its a nice open air modern mediterranean style restaurant. you could also take the boat over to the yacht & beach club & do the yachtsman steakhouse or the clambake at cape may cafe which is a buffet.

The yachtsman steakhouse is lovely! Also there are a few restauants that have private dining rooms! That way you'll have a bit of space! I think the napa room is one at the california grill - you can then see the fireworks from the restaurant!

Thanks you guys for the great suggestions! Maybe we'll do our rehearsal dinner at one and then our sit down dinner for our 15 guests at the other.

We had a small wedding too (28 people) and rather than having a sit-down rehearsal dinner, we decided to have an Illuminations Dessert Party instead. There were several kids there (4 kids under 10 and 3 teenagers) and EVERYONE, including all of the adults, REALLY enjoyed it! Our bill was just about $1,500, so yours would be a little cheaper than that.

The Dessert party is a great idea if you have the cash. Someone I know here had her rehearsal dinner at Spoodles and they were able to give them a somewhat private corner area in the rear of the restaurant. When I said kid friendly, I meant that it's not a hushed, dark, romantic type of restaurant. The food is mediterranean style as someone said.
My personal favorite is Jiko at AKL. They have a private room, but the minimum expenditure to use it is $2500 - however I went there with about 20 people the night before our wedding with a late reservation and they seated us all in the wine room area - and no other diners were in there. We had two separate tables, but it still worked out great.

I think Spoodles is a great way to go. Not sure about the cuisine though. Have some picky eaters in my family. May just have to go with something very traditional american for the cuisine.
