Can anyone post pics of their buffet for their wedding, I am considering and I would like to see the setup??

Also what was your opinion on the food, what did your guests think of the buffet???

How was it organized???

We had a brunch buffet and I think everyone really liked it! But then it's hard to screw up brunch. The Mickey waffles were a big hit.

I don't have too many pix of the setup, just the food, but here's one of the setup before they put out the food:

And if you look in the background, here's with the trays still out:

As always, your posts are awesome. We're planning a brunch as well, and we wanted to make sure that Mickey waffles were a part of the plan. Check!

How long did you brunch last? (We're trying to estimate drink costs.)

It looks like we're going to have about 60 people. You guys did your brunch at The Attic, right? But you also had fewer guests, right? Our sales coordinator told us that The Attic would be pretty cramped with our number of guests, and that if the weather turned sour, we'd be out of luck. :guilty:

To be honest, I'm not that picky about the reception location; I just really want our guests to ride the Friendship Boat. :upsidedow

Eeeeee! Friendship boat!!! :sail:

Yeah, the Attic maxes out at 50, and if you didn't want to be on the porch cuz of weather, it would be a tight squeeze inside. :sad1: But there are plenty of other places you can reach by boat, mostly at the convention centers, but Atlantic Dance Hall and Ariel's too!

Our brunch lasted 3 hours, with an extra 45 minutes of pre-reception (which was silly cuz we had no booze!). It seemed like the perfect amount of time for just sitting and talking and catching up. If I were to do it all over again, I definitely would have done billed-on-consumption for the soda and water package. No way did my guests drink all this:

oh lurky.. you are the estest thing a girl whos planning a wedding could have ever asked for.. have i told you lately that i love you?? seriosuly...

ok.. whats the friendship boatthing?? how much extra is it/.....?

ADH is perfect for 60 people for brunch. We are doing this in November of this year. We have between 50 and 60 people and are doing a brunch from 10:00 to 3:00 - 10:00 to 11:00 is pre-reception and then 11:00 to 3:00 is brunch. We are having a DJ and hopefully plenty of dancing. We have not looked into taking the Friendship Boat yet but might. We having our planning session next week so that will be on my question of things. We are not planning on heading to ADH with our guests after the ceremony because we want to hang around Epcot for a bit taking pictures so I am not sure if I want to do the boat or not - I don't want to pay for it just for our guests - I want to enjoy it also. Maybe it can make two trips.

We had a variation of the Tinkerbell brunch and no Mickey waffles for that menu, so make to double check if your heart is set on them. We switched out several of the lunch items for specific recipes of entrees that we like at restaurants on property.

We had two stations though- one for crepes and one for omletes. Our guests loved the option of being able to have their food made right there in front of them.

The crepes are in our Tinkerbell brunch also. We are deciding between them and the Mickey waffles. I think the crepes look more upscale but I just love the Mickey waffles. I have requested to try the crepes next week when we have our planning session and our food tasting.

Did you consider swaping the crepes for the waffles and how did your guest like tyhe crepes?

Thanks,
Linda

wow everything was setup so nicely
event though now I am going with a sit down meal

Thanks everyone

I actually wanted to get a waffle station instead, but Kris insisted on the crepes and you know what (don't let him know I said this because I don't admit it that often) he was right!

The crepes were super fancy and our guests loved them. We tried them at our menu tasting and they were super yummy with the chocolate filling. We also added a few more fruit toppings. I ate several of them; they were so good!

Noticing from Amanda's pictures and other brides from these boards - does anyone feel funny that you, as bride and groom, have someone go with you and pick out your food? I would kind of feel like they are monitoring the amount of food I eat. This might be great for the first time around but if I want to go up there and just pick an extra something I would feel funny having someone do this for me.

What are your thoughts?

Linda

Thanks for the reply on the crepes vs the Mickey waffles. I am sure we are going to go with the crepes but the Mickey waffles are just so Disney. I would also like to add some extra things to the crepes.

We are having a rehearsal breakfast at Cape May Cafe instead of a rehearsal dinner (this just works out better with the days and times that people are arriving at Disney for our wedding) and they have Mickey waffles on that buffet so that will have to satisfy me.

yes linda, let me tell you about it! its weird that they are waiting on you hand and foot...they even questioned eric & i when we got our own drinks instead of asking. they did though, get eric a glass of milk to eat with his cake from the kitchen so that was kinda cool.

Ok, I feel weird about people waiting on me hand and foot too!!! Plus, what if I like a little salad with my salad dressing!!!:lmao: Will they let you serve yourself? Great Thread though!! Bring on more pictures!

I loooooooooove to drown my salad. :cool1:
I dont think they let you serve yourself...especially your first trip to the buffet your servants (lol jk) get you and escort you through the buffet first...maybe you could ask your WP in advance and see if you can get them to not do it.

I needed the extra hands because I had 3 plates of food by the time I was done (1 for regular buffet, 1 with omelete, and 1 with crepe) :rotfl2: My server would put a little on my plate and then I would ask for more :lmao: I ate more than Kris that day. I've done big events before and have had to go in the kitchen at the end to get leftovers because I never sat down to eat, so I was determined to get my fill at the wedding.

I can see it now, A little more dressing... A little more... Ok, just give me the container!!!!!

I would definately do the 3 plates also. I do not like mixing my food. When I do brunch buffets I usually do pastries and things like that first - then I do breakfast items and then lunch type items and salad. I usually like to make more then one trip and just take a little something each time. And I do not want to take my chicken and pasta at the same time I take my eggs - I want my food to stay hot so I make lots of trips. I guess my escort will be making lots of trips with me - or maybe he will just get tired of it and let me go by myself after a while.

Another question - about how long is the food left out. If the reception starts at 11:00 with us getting announced in and the buffet starts at 11:30 I would imagine the food portion will be finished by 1:00. I want to make sure there is enough time for dancing. Do people dance while the brunch is going on. I know I hate it at weddings where all you do is get up and then go back to the table - its like dance - sit down and eat your salad - dance - sit down and eat your meal - dance - sit down and eat your cake. I want this to be like a big party.
