Wedding bands=sexy?

What is the theory behind this...

"Hmmm, personally I think that person over there is hideous, but WAIT A MINUTE... they are wearing a wedding band. Well, obviously I have misjudged them. SOMEBODY thinks they're hot! What was I thinking...they are in fact quite a catch!"

A few of my friends even admitted that about my DH. When we met, I was engaged. He became a part of my circle of friends and over the next 8 years, asked a couple of them out. Each one 'didn't want to ruin the friendship'.

Then, when my ex and I split and I started dating him a few months later, they looked at him differently.

He'd never ever been hit on until he had a wedding band!

I don't think there's anything sexy about a wedding band, or any other type of jewelry on a man for that matter. Sure, it's great when they actually wear their wedding band and don't "forget" that their married, but I wouldn't classify it as sexy.
