Blizzard Beach

We had brekkie in the Villa then left for Blizzard Beach. We arrived at just gone 10 to a pretty full-looking car park.

After a not very strenuous start to the day we decided it really was best to chill out in the lazy river for a couple of laps.

The first proper ride we did was Teamboat Springs. We also rode Downhill Dipper and Run-Off Rapids.

The children spent a little time in the Ski Patrol Training Camp before we decided it was time to get out of the sun and have some lunch.

A couple more laps of the lazy river and then we got changed and left at 3pm.

The queues weren’t long on any of the rides but it was very very hot and humid which made it very tiring to climb the stairs and queue. The longest queue I saw was for the chair-lift. The floor was baking hot and there are water jets scattered about which cool the concrete down a bit. Maybe we should have bought some waterproof shoes. I didn’t really appreciate what a difference the summer heat makes – until we were there - compared to the weather in October – we can normally stay at the water parks from opening until closing time. So take plenty of waterproof sun cream, water shoes and drink plenty of water!

Back at the villa the kids watched TV, Enz read a car mag and I had a little nap :)

Tonight was Sweet Tomatoes night – another voucher to use which was e-mailed to me after registering on their site. Gianni didn’t really like much – but at about $6 (I think!) for his food and drink, I really didn’t mind that all he had was a cheesy jacket potato, bread and ice-cream. The rest of us enjoyed the food - I love their cornbread.

In an effort to walk off the extra food that we ate, we drove to Downtown Disney West Side to have a wander. We were in the Virgin Megastore for aaaaages then walked over to the Market Place.

We all felt hot, clammy and tired so we caught the bus from Market Place back to West Side and the car.

You’ll never believe it because it’s so unlike me, but I fell asleep whilst Enz drove us home :)

We enjoyed Blizzard Beach too, and actually Joshua fell asleep in the car on the way back last August, it was early in our holiday and he hadn't adjusted to the heat.
Sounds like you had a good day.

Great trip report, I love Blizzard Beach! :cheer2:
