We'd like to make a trip to WDW and visit family at same time but I was just wondering what the general concensus s from seasoned family travellers before we decided to hop on a plane and cart our boy off on this trip. Ideally it would be next year we'd like to go which would make him 3. My concern is that at 3 years old would WDW really have anything to offer him (aside from the experience and the fun of seeing the characters that wander around the site). I remember when i was 6 my family went but that was a miserable time (my mother got heat stroke and was sick for our day and a half visit to the park, and aside from Space Mountain the only thing i can really remember was being furious the way only a 6 year old girl can be that she missed the parade lol) Please if anyone has any suggestions or comments I'd really appreciate the feedback :) Thank you very much

We've taken all 3 of our daughters to WDW at young ages. We're soooo glad we did.

My advice; go during the OFF-SEASON when the crowds are low and the temps are cooler (early December is great and so was early February). Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom is perfect for that age, most of the rides are tame and he can sit next to you. There is so much to look at throughout WDW, and the parades are fun. I'd avoid Epcot. Stick to his schedule, be sure you have a stroller and snacks/juice each day.

Have fun!!!!

Definitely! My DD was 3 last year and was able to go on most of the rides. 40" is the magical height for the bigger rides and she was right at it. She didn't like the dark rides but the simple ones like Dumbo, Aladdins Carpets were her favorites. Also she loved Small World. She could spend alot of time at Mickey and Minnie's houses and loved the pop jets at Donald's boat. Loved the face characters and Minnie, was not so sure of the furry ones. She had a wonderful time!

for a once in a lifetime trip I'd wait until 6, but if you'll eventually go back I'd say now is a good time. Personally I would go right before he turns 3, so he does need a ticket and eats free at the buffets.

I don't know if I should be answering this question because one of the first thoughts that went through my mind when I found out I was pregnant for the first time was "Oh my gosh, I can't wait to bring my child to disney for the first time!!" :cheer2:
That aside...I agree with going before the age of 3 so its free! We took DS for his 3rd birthday and he loved it and we all had a wonderful time. Just go at there pace and it will be fine!

I have taken all three of my children at the age of 2. They had plenty to do between the characters and the shows and the sightseeing. They loved it. Of course now that they are older, it is better because all of us can go on rides instead of having to do a swap or someone missing out. I suggest you take him. Good Luck.
