Website + TA Question

Hey all, sorry if this is a stupid question, but I can't seem look at 2013 room / package prices online. After I submit the dates, the website says nothing is available! This has been going on for a couple of days. Things were fine last week. I've logged in and out, same thing. What gives??

Also, I'm planning for a Nov 2014 trip. Coming from abroad (from a faaaraway country), should I use a Disney TA like Dreams Unlimited ? For the sake of discount access (if there's any). How does Disney TA work exactly?

Though it will be my first time handling it, I was pretty confident making reservations DIY. But after facing the website glitch, I'm not so sure anymore. I'm residing in South east asia, it wouldn't be easy nor convenient to call Disney anytime there's a glitch online. Gah.

Thoughts?

lol I posted this same things last night!! I have tried for days to price/book a room or package and it does nothing....Im a Florida resident so I also tried getting a room at our discount time frame, it brings me to the rooms and says "these are non discounted rooms"....its getting annoying! I don't like calling them bc Im a visual person, I need to see the rooms and prices for myself, I like to price different resorts etc.
arghhhh....glad its not just me lol

LOL glad it's not just me either! For a moment I thought it's my browser. It's not updated since my laptop is ancient LOL.

So anyway, the website thing is still a mystery huh? Bummer. Perhaps you can updated us if u do call them?

Yep, the Disney website has been glitchy at best over the past couple of days. There are a lot of people trying to price out vacations and all they get in return is no availability! My advice is to just keep trying - it's bound to start working at some point in time (and in fact has worked recently for another person on this board)!

In your case, coming from Southeast Asia, it may be worthwhile to utilize a TA for your upcoming vacation. A (good) TA will be on the up-and-up with room discounts and free dining, will make the ADRs for the dates/times you're interested in, and be able to answer any questions should one arise. I personally like handling my trips by myself but if I were wearing your shoes, I'd take the TA route without a second thought! Sit back and relax while someone else handles all of the specifics. :)

Thanks!! DH wasn't convinced as we always, always handle our trips ourselves. But I guess a Disney trip is a whole different beast, isn't it? Might as well go with a TA :)

Any other thoughts?

I agree. With the time difference and the cost of international calls, I think I'd allow a TA who specializes in Disney to plan all the details for you. A good TA will not prevent you from booking anything you want on your own--dining reservations, etc--but can be your advocate for special requests, deals, etc

You should be able to see packages for 2014 tomorrow, they are not going live till then. Good Luck with your booking

I was having gthe same issues yeserday and just decided to call and book. The CM stated that they were upgrading their systems and that even she did not have the ability to search/book at that time. Should be completed soon.

Heyyy, thanks for the reply everyone! I handle trips myself *** I'm a total control freak and a world-class worrywart, but reading many good things about TAs here in Disboards makes me feel more and more confident.

Still have several questions I need to clear up first, tho, before deciding to go with a TA. Then it's just the matter of finding a good, Disney-certified one, hmmmm...
