The only place I've ever bought tickets is through ticketmaster. Are there better places to get those tickets for a lesser price? We are not so patiently waiting for Taylor Swift tickets to be release for our area and I want to get the best tickets I can feasibly for my dd's but don't want to be searching the internet for the best prices. We don't do concerts often, so I'm like a fish out of water here.:thumbsup2

The only way I know to save $$ off ticketmaster prices is to buy directly from the venue. That will usually save you at least a few dollars in convenience fees.

As popular as Taylor Swift is right now, I assume the concerts will be a quick sell out though. You might be lucky to get tickets at all.

Any of the 3rd party aftermarket outlets are going to charge more than face value.

Good Luck!

if it's a show that is still selling tickets, you might be able to wait until the day of the show and buy from stubhub. A friend on another board, he does this successfully and gets great seats at about face. It won't save you money but he swears he gets great seats without breaking the bank.

I found his post:

Stub Hub, Great Seats....all of them....they are all in cahoots with Ticketmaster/Live Nation. Do you really think these "legal scalping agencies" actually aquire 20 3rd row seats all together the old fashoned way...especially when there is a 6 ticket per person limit? I'll say this, I've used Stubhub NUMEROUS times and have had nothing but good seats for either equal or less than the ticket value. I just wait till one week before the show and then gety them. In fact, just yesterday I got my Paul McCartney tickets....they are being sold by ticketmaster via their American Express only deal for $250 a pop. (20th row center) I got them for $170 each. And when you order from Stubhub it tells you if it's an E ticket or not. If it is an E ticket, you don't have to pay for Fed Ex overnight shipping like for physical tickets. You just get a link and code to download the tix and print. Every purchase is guarenteed 100% by Stubhub and if there IS a problem at the door, they urge you to keep the confirmation w/ order nuber and their hotline phone number, guaranteeing they'll get you in equal or better seats. I prefer Stubhub to using Ticketmaster 100% You can order from Ticket**stard at 10am on the day tix go on sale and still get sh*tty seats, if fact you can't even chose your seats. They just offer blindly and you either accept or decline. W/ Stubhub, I get to scour every seat available according to section, row, seat, and price.

(I did a bit of editing, hope I got them all. There aren't any restrictions on language at that site.)

Thanks! The only problem is that I don't know where the venue is going to be yet. It hasn't been released yet. I only know the date. It's aggrivating, to say the least.

That is too funny. :) Thanks for the info... I'll have to look into this, but I don't know if I would want to wait until last minute.

does she have an official fan club? Haunt those boards, you would be surprised what people know. Might get some good info. Even quality fan sites are great, it's just finding the right one. I belong to a few different ones that give info ahead of time, three that offer tickets to fans before general public and one that has a few small venue shows that are only available to fans. These are long-established bands, not sure if TS has been around long enough to do anything like that.

Thanks for the info! I've already joined her myspace and her fan club for updates. I'll check around for some fan sites/boards to see if there's anything floating around.

My dds saw Taylor in August-great show! I bought the tickets in May. Originally I tried to get them for Madison Square Garden but they sold out in seconds!! I ended up getting tickets for a venue in PA. I bought 4 tickets with the presale but I could only get high-up seats. I bought them anyway and figured I would try again when they went on sale to the general public to get better seats. However, when that day came I couldn't get any tickets at all! I heard the whole tour was a quick sell out.

Now Taylor will be in NJ next May. From Taylorswift.com they sent us a presale code, the presale starts today so I will probably try to get tickets with that.

As for Stubhub that someone suggested, I did look on there before the August show-there were no bargains to be had for Taylor Swift!

My dds really enjoyed her concert, she gave a great show!

Good luck getting tickets!! :)

Good luck with tickets, I had a horrible time on Sunday for the Amex presale only kept getting nose bleed for $72.50 (are you kidding me?). I gave up. I tried again this morning for her pre-sale and kept getting nose bleed again, my co-worker was helping from her computer at 10:20 we finally got main concourse and jumped on them.

Honestly as frustrating as it is, I would try when they go on sale to the public but I personally wouldn't pay $72.50 for a seat in the nose bleed section. I have a feeling the public sale is going to be crazy!

The message that was posted about stub hub sounded like that maybe the best bet with the craziness of Taylor Swift and everyone trying to get tickets. Good Luck and pixie dust! pixiedust:
