The non profit I work for is looking for a new option for our website. We currently have a website and a host, but the program we ahead been using to design the website (webeasy) is not compatible with Windows 8. And based on reviews the upgrade to the program is not a good one.

The question is... Is there a good online based program to design websites easily where we can use our current host? We would like to keep our website address. We would like an online option because often we need to make updates from home (weather related announcements for example) and currently we have to be in the office to do updates. We aren't interested in fancy coding, we would prefer more of a word processing type format to keep things simple. None of us are web programmers and we are busy enough with our jobs where we would like to keep things simple for updating our website.

I hope I'm using the right terminology in all this! It is outside my expertise but I'm willing to learn and explore options.

Have you thought about Drupal? Its an extremely easy website framework you can do pretty much with. Plus its free and you can find templates, modules, pretty much everything you want to do for free.

If anyone on your team has web building experience, then I'd go with WordPress: http://www.wordpress.org

If no one has any clue what they're doing, check out Wix: http://www.wix.com

Just an FYI but you can switch hosts and keep your address. You just have to advise your registrar to update their DNS to point to a new server if you switch.
