Website annoyances regarding the Olympics

Is anyone else annoyed that Yahoo.com, CNN.com and probably many other websites post the results of Olympic events before these events are aired on television? Twice yesterday I inadvertently saw the results of the 200M free final and the men's gymnastics finals. I try to make an effort to avoid looking at these sites but sometimes I just catch the heading in the corner of my eye. I wish these sites would just hold off until after the event is shown.

Ok, rant off.

I think a lot of people here feel the same way about TV spoilers. I think if you really want to watch something then you probably shouldn't be anywhere on the internet. Even the radio station here in NY said the results.

It's unfortunate but it's the way it is.

It drives me crazy! I think I need to change my home page. Right now it's MSN and they have updates throughout the day. I also can't check our local paper website either.

I don't want to know!!

Nope, you're not alone -- just going to check my e-mail means running across headlines that are complete spoilers for the night's tape delayed stuff.

I just went to check my email on Yahoo and the results from women's gymnastics were right there on the front page:mad: That's the one event I wanted to see so badly and wanted to be in total suspense for. The networks and everything else are totally ruining the fun of watching the Olympics.

THANKS for the reminder!!! I'm getting away from the computer!!

I'm so sorry the event was spoiled for you!

I agree! UGH! I found out my hot Australian, the Thorpedo, won his event. I wanted it to be a surprise but no they had to post his hot sexy face across the screen and announce that my hot 6' 5" Australian swimmer with the six pack had won before it even aired. Hang on...why am I complaining about his face across my screen? :faint:

I am getting a little annoyed with it too. Sometimes I like to look, sometimes I don't. But I want it to be my choice. I signed on aol and they had a title that gave away one event on their opening page I would have liked to have seen first. I actually wish, tv would just air it as it happens, not what's best for their rating schedules, then we wouldn't have to deal with this at all!

NBC Nightly News will give a warning each night before they air the results. Tonight, I was in the kitchen and I knew I wouldn't get to the remote in time to mute the sound. So I turned on the garbage disposal and it drowned out the results. :)
