How can my computer be reporting a Net Bios scan virus to my ISP if I don't have one on my PC??
Last week my ISP shut off my modem claiming that my computer is reported as having a net bios scan virus. I ran Norton antivirus and it came back nothing found but dh debuged, removed and reformated the hard drive that night , installed windows ME instead of XP like he had before. Then the ISP turned on the service again, they shut it off again on saturday claiming the same thing, so we did the same thing all over again, only this time we also had DELL scan the computer for diagnostics and again they came up with no problem found. We updated Norton Antivirus and ran their tests directly from their site, also everything came back no problem found. This morning after all of this my ISP turned the modem back on but I don't know if I'm in the clear with them, I believe THEY are the ones having a problem.
DH knows about computers quite a bit , he does not do that for a living but he knows how to fix them if a problem comes up.
Also two computer programmers that I know came to look at my computer and both said the same thing, we don't have a problem, my ISP does.
Is this possible?? TIA
