Web Trends Reporting Center?

I am getting it too. I thought I may have accidently hit something and caused to ask me to sign on. I hope this is not a virus or bug.

I don't know much about Webtrends, but I do know it's a popular tool to get data about your website. Usually it's for determining how many hits your site is getting, if you need an upgrade, or if the server is being over-taxed. End users (that's us) shouldn't see the username & password screen. I don't know of too many companies that don't use a tool like this to help them measure. I'm sure someone more technical can explain it better.

You're right, it's a website management tool. I bet when Pete brought his wernertech.com online (if it is new), they caused this problem.

Well, regardless, I do remember a year or so ago someone asking if the DIS would use web tracking software and the answer was NEVER.

Hey Jipsy... webtracking software- isn't that the kind of "stuff" that I scan for with my "ad-aware" ?? Excuse my ignorance but I'm lucky I can turn the computer ON! LOL

I checked out the wernertech webpage. I noticed that "Marketing" is spelled "Martketing". Somebody please turn off webtrends before I wear out my cancel button.

They aren't. Webtrends is used for internal website analysis - it determines how people use this site and makes suggestions to improve performance and such. My guess is it's related to www.wernertech.com in some way...

Well, from the looks of it - Internally, yes - to make sure they board is efficient and works the way they want it to.

Externally? Like tracking where you go and what else you look at besides the DISboards? No.

Maybe its just a Mistake...and somebody is trying to fix it. It is annoying...but maybe the "right" person doesn't know its happening yet. I am sure it will be cleared up ASAP!!

WebTrends is NOT spyware. It DOES log and analyze the traffic on the web site. It can be used to figure out which pages get little or no traffic (so they can be removed or redesigned) and which get more traffic.

It is also used to ensure that a web site provides easy navigation.

My guess is that Alex will correct this as soon as he sees it.

Don't worry, you are not being followed.
