I don't know much about Webtrends, but I do know it's a popular tool to get data about your website. Usually it's for determining how many hits your site is getting, if you need an upgrade, or if the server is being over-taxed. End users (that's us) shouldn't see the username & password screen. I don't know of too many companies that don't use a tool like this to help them measure. I'm sure someone more technical can explain it better.
