Hi
Well, as anticipated I am sat here waiting for the 2 ladies of the house to finish getting ready before we head out for the evening. We have had a lazy day around the villa pool today as the weather has changed for the better. It is the first time the kids have been able to make use of the pool and they had a whale of a time. Me and DS have just finished watching the Liverpool match while DW and DD were relaxing in the jacuzzi and once everyone is ready we will be heading off for thr Calafornia Grill. We have reservations for 6pm and Wishes is at 8pm tonight so we hope we have out timings right :thumbsup2
Thursday we spent the morning at DD and had lunch at T-Rex. As a family we all thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Both kids did the Build-a-dino, and all of us enjoyed our meals. Unfortunately we didn't have room for dessert - which is probably a first for us - as the meals were so big. DW and I had Boneyard Buffets, which was half a chicken and a full rack of ribs served with waffle fries and coleslaw. There was an embarrasing amount left over but it beat us fair and square.
Yesterday we spent the day at Universal after having breakfast at Chef Mickeys. We thought breakfast was OK - it pretty obvious that you are paying for the character interaction so can see why so many people get a lot out of it. The main sticking point for me was having the gratuity added for a buffet, when all the guy did was bring us 2 drinks each, but there you go.
We had the morning at IOA and the afternoon at US. We have been so many time now we all know what rides we want to go on, and the queues were small enough that getting everything done that we wanted to do wasn't a problem at all. On the way out we went to Margharitavillle for dinner and this was superb. I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone.
Anyway enough from me for now as I can hear movement.
I have put a couple of pics on our website so feel free to have a look.
I will pop back on soon with a further update.
Bye for now.

Yes we have brought our laptop with us.
Our family back in the UK has become accustomed to us updating our website every few days as a way of letting them know what we have been up to, and all our website info is on our lappy.
Sure beats sending postcards :thumbsup2

Pictures are great, Thanks for sharing, have agreat holiday. Only 194 days until we go (not that I'm counting!):thumbsup2

Love the pics !!! Great idea to update family and friends !!

Just a quick one as we are almost ready to go out for the day.
In the last few days we have been to Universal, Epcot, Magic Kingdom, helicoptor flight on International Drive, breakfast at the Market Street cafe in Celebration and DD.
I have just put a few more photo's on our site so feel free to have a look. I will keep doing this as it is easier and quicker than playing around with photobucket, but please ask if you have any questions about a particular pic.
Todays plans are for a trip down International Drive, or DD - we havent decided yet - followed by dinner at Whispering Canyon.
Oh - and for any AP holders that are due out any time now, everyday that we have been into the Disney store at DD we have been directed to customer services and been presented with a free lanyard and 2 pins for each AP we have, as well as a voucher that gives an additional 10% off - making it 20% in all (for that day only). So far we have been given about 16 free pins, which is great for the kids as they go around the parks looking to trade them for their own collections (DS = Stitch and DD = Pluto)
Bye for now

Thats great they are doing something for AP holders for a change. Ours expire day before our August trip, won't be renewing them this time.
Enjoy rest of your trip.

Wow, you must have nerves of steal looking at the helicopter! Great pictures:)

Glad to hear you+your family are having a wonderful time.Excellent pics by the way :thumbsup2 .
We can't wait to eat in T-Rex+the girls are excited about build-a-dino.
Hope you continue to have a superb holiday.x.

Some lovely photos :)

Did you enjoy breakfast at the Market Street Cafe? We ate there a couple of times in December & enjoyed it.

As Wayne says - that's good news for AP holders at DTD. I have one but don't think I will use again now - pity someone can't take advantage of the benefits from it.

I know what you mean. Even though we have probably gained back the difference in price due to the exchange rate, and the money we spent on the Tables in Wonderland card, by having no parking fees to pay and getting 20% off food we have still found it frustrating that they don't give the discount on merchandise at anywhere but the World of Disney store at DD.
But even more frustrating is that they don't have the benefits card printed yet, which leaves us a little in the dark as to what we are getting for being AP holders, and they still don't have the pins that AP holders are entitled to. The latest news they have is that they wont be available until after valentines day - which probably means we wont get them on this trip :sad1:
We also have the Uinversal AP and this works so much better than disneys. Free valet parking at city walk and 20% off merchandise in all the stores in both parks, and thats before you take in the discount off food in the parks and on city walk.

The DW and kids like it there - but from a personal point of view I dont like eggs and the majority of the menu is based around them (as are most of the breakfast menus over here). Instead I went for a sausage pattie and muffin. Filled a little hole I would say.
We always tend to go here on a Sunday morning as they have the farmers market on. Market street is full of local traders selling their products and crafts, and you can find some very unique and interesting gifts here.

We knew the AP pins would not be there in early Jan but we tried. As I said our AP expire before we go in August so probably won't get them unless we try and hope they don't check the expiry date. You would think a company like Disney can get their stock in on time. They should be there from 1st Jan.
We have AP for Uni, SW and Busch, they are way better value than Disney, will renew Uni and probably SW/Busch just not paying Disney price for little benefit.

I wish I was there. Heavy snow has hit where I live and I am concerned about my son who is due home from York today as the roads are so bad.

So pleased you are having a lovely time in the sunshine, lovely photos too.:goodvibes

Oh - we did lunch one day & sat outside and dinner another. We got eclairs from the farmers market one year - from a french couple - and sat and ate them by the lake with a coffee mmmmmmm......:)

Hope you are enjoyng the rest of your holiday:thumbsup2

Hi guys

I have just uploaded a few pics onto our site and, as the gallery was getting a bit big I have started another one that can be accessed from here

http://www.nicholls2010.co.uk/florida.html

Just select 2009 Week 1 or Week 2 for the slide shows.

One of the highlights of the last couple of days - and the holiday on the whole - has been going to see the Blue Man Group at Universal. We didn't really know what to expect but it exceeded anything we could have hoped for. If anyone is thinking about it then I would say to do it. You won't be dissappointed.

I will be back on in a few days if I have some more pics to share.

Bye for now

Great weather today with a high of 84f :)

Claire ;)
