Does anyone have a clue what the weather is like at the moment, i have been reading lots of thunder :cold: at the moment we are due to go on thursday and a bit worried about the weather. Its our first trip to wdw. :confused3

A Disney podcaster was just in the parks this Sunday and said his wife almost passed out from the heat. The Tropical Storm brought an increased amount of humidity and there weren't hydrating properly. They are native Orlandonians and said the heat in the Summer there is no laughing matter. You've got to be careful.

You can check places like weather.com for historical averages for each month in Orlando if needed. They give you rain percentages in comparison to other months and everything else you need to know.

We leave on Sat and I was just having that very conversation with my dd, 11, last night. We decided that we would be wearing our ponchos a lot. Last August we were there the same time H. Charley was and the humidity was incredible. Much worse than the summer before...exact same time frame..only difference was the hurricane. Have ponchos with you all the time, get started early in the day, go back to your resort mid-day and change your shoes/socks, swim. Try to eat one good meal a day....fortifies you and gets you cooled back down if you take your time eating!! Drink more water than you think you need!!! Try not to have the 'we have to see it all, do everything' mentality. Bad thing to do during the summer months!!! It'll kill you! Have a great time!!!

We had a lot of rain with the tropical storm but it is that time of year for afternoon showers. They are widely scattered so it could be raining on one side of the park and not the other.

www.wftv.com is a great local weather station.

Just got back yesterday from a two week break and were disapointed with the weather. The first two days were great but then the rain started, not the normal Florida downpours but rain like we get in England. We woke up to the rain, had rain in the mornings, the afternoons and the night. We had 4 dry days the second week (just the usual afternoon downpours)then back to rain and cloud. The pilot even said on the journey home that he hoped the weather had not spolit our holidays. We are now back in England and guess what - its raining.

One thing we were thankfull for was that we had a good day for discovery cove.

Forecast for every day this summer:

Hot, high of 93, low of 73. Chance of thundershowers in the afternoon.
Repeat.

:)

I live in South Carolina and mcuh like Orlando this is our daily forecast. I love it! DH does not. Love the rain, it will cool you off. Bring your ponchos. I think I did see that things are suppose to "cool off" a bit this weekend. Now you know in the south by "cool off" we mean "it won't be 90"!!! :rotfl2:

Looking out my window right now, it is sunny. The sky is blue with "cotton candy" clouds. It is HOT! It has not rained at all so far today, but we expect a thunder shower since we are in that typical summer pattern.

I'm sorry you had bad weather, but that was due to TS.Arlene. She spat on us all weekend. It's been horridly humid and warm. I've been here 90% of my life, and I swear that the summers are getting hotter and hotter.

Seattle Mark has it right, It's basicaly wash/rinse/repeat with the weather. The only thing you can count on is that it will be hot, it will rain, and it will be the standard pattern for the next 3 or 5 months.

Hope you have a better time next year.

unfortunately we cant aford to go every year. We have been July, August, September and October and this is the worst weather we have had. We will be back in about 3 years time, we like the sun, what month would you suggest to go.

Hot and humid with daily chances of showers and occassional hurricanes............. :rolleyes1
