Just looked at the extended forecast for when we are there and everyday shows rain ..What are the chances it will change

Is this stay in the summer? Is the forecast for rain or chance of thunderstorms? I thought typical summer weather in much of Fl is for a pop up thunderstorm in the afternoon. Sometimes they linger but many times they are out of there fairly quickly.

It is beginning August 24th. Shows periods of rain every day and two of the days cloudy with thunderstorms

First....RELAX....You can't trust the forecast that far out..I am only a couple of days from my trip and the forecast has changed at least a 1000 x in the last 2 days alone, heck with looking at it that far out..That said, it is normal in August to have daily rainstorms.They don't last long and they don't last all day.

From about June to mid-October, there's the possibility of rain every day in Florida.

Since you're looking at an extended forecast, and they can't accurately predict the weather that far out, they're showing what the general weather conditions are usually like for that time of year.

So that's what you're seeing - there's a chance of rain every day. Generally, the periods of rain are brief, and scattered - it may be raining in MK and sunny in Epcot. Unless there's a tropical system hanging around, I wouldn't expect all-day rain.

For an actual forecast, don't even bother looking more than 2 or 3 days out from your trip. Anything more than that will likely be inaccurate.

Check out the National Hurricane Center. They show the storms making their way over and probability of them actually turning into something that would cause a significant amount of rain.

You can not trust weather forecasts anymore than crowd predictions..... It's all hit and miss... I put no stock in either and refuse to even consult them for Disney travel...

If you want local weather online check out the local tv stations: www.wftv.com (ABC), www.wesh.com (NBC) and www.local6.com (CBS). They are our local stations and are the ones that you see on the TV's at the Disney resorts. Enjoy your vacation!!

The chances are very high that this will change. It could be anywhere from none to a monsoon. You just never know. Typical Orlando weather for that period includes an afternoon thundershower around mid-day but fine before/after.

Use any of the usual weather forecasting sites for a general idea of what to expect but don't get too worked up about it.

Don't be concerned. This time of year it can thunderstorm every day, and from my experience it is usually short lived. Now, there is always a chance of a rain storm sitting over WDW for several days. We have been there in August for that (longer) kind of event. But it is not typical to get a whole week of constant (washout) rain.

I stayed at WDW last week, and every day the weather forecast showed a 40-60% chance of rain the week before my trip. The mornings of, it would usually still show at least 40% chance. It did not rain every day, and the days it did rain, it usually rained for about 10 minutes, then stopped. There was one night that it stormed really bad for about half an hour - just enough to completely soak my shoes and socks! But bring a poncho and have it easily accessible and you'll be just fine!

I've been to the parks a million times and I don't think I've ever had a day without rain. It's usually a quick shower or thunderstorm in the afternoon. No big deal. I dont think it has ever rained enough to ruin a day.

Everytime we go it rains at least once. The last time we went in October and had a rain storm every afternoon. We just took our ponchos with us and kept on going. Its a running joke with us and we bring our Disney ponchos that they don't make anymore. One neat thing about the rain storms was the park seemed to empty out. We were able to walk on most rides after a storm. The great thing about rain in FL is it doesn't usually last long IMO. Have fun on your trip and just come prepared and you'll be fine.

I have gone in August and am going again this year the 20-29. This was my experience It will rain, and that's ok It is short lived and did not affect us negatively. Though, we find humor in anything. We are very easy going. The only unfortunate incident was being on the parking tram and a WHAMMING downpour happened. We started Epcot soaked, but you dry quick and it was a great laugh!

Very dangerous...you first. Time to panic. Hurry out to buy tons of plastic ponchos cheap at a local store before you go. Pick up a um um um BRELLA too. Remember to take along polypro or nylon which will dry much faster than cotton stuff. Dry socks in plastic bag in the backpack. Ahhhhhh. Oh chances? 50% but half the time that's wrong.

That sounds like something that would happen to us. We always make sure to pack our ponchos with us just in case. They roll up pretty tightly and don't weigh much so its not a big deal. We would rather have them and not need them then the other way around. We're pretty easy going too and since we've been there so much if we have bad weather one day its not a big deal. We'll just make sure to hit that park another trip.

I've been at that time in August and the rain showers are brief. Buy ponchos or bring an umbrella. Most people crowed in one of the shops till it's over.
