Attractions won't close unless lightning is detected within five miles of the park. As long as its just rain, everything indoors should be open. The Studios is obviously the better choice of the two and it looks like we are going to be getting A LOT of rain this rain due to a tropical system down near Miami. I don't think it will be steady heavy rain but rather downpours lasting a short while. Just grab a poncho and hit it...I went through a monsoon opening night of Halloween Horror Nights last year so I know what its like. Crowds disappear and you'll have the place to yourself...practically.So I've been checking the weather for next week and apparantly there's a 20-40% chance of rain everyday that I'll be there. How considered should I be? If it is a washout are any attractions still open while it rains?

My brother and his family have their trip scheduled for next week. Their first night is Sunday and they're staying at the Nick Hotel. They have planned to go to Legoland, US, IOA, and one day at the hotel. Tomorrow at 3:00 pm their time is the deadline to cancel the trip without penalty. We don't know if we should cancel or not due to the weather. Those of you who are saying that the rain will come and go may not be correct. This is not the normal summer rain, but tropical rain that can last days without stopping. They will be tracking this weather closely and making their decision about going or not tomorrow afternoon. If they had gone to US before, they would know what to do when it rains. But since these are new parks to us, we don't have a rainy day schedule to follow. If they were going to WDW, they would know what to do in the rain. Nobody minds wearing poncho. They have done this many, many times. However, they are not people who will be running around the parks soaked to the skin.
not sure but if the tickets you have don't scan at the gate, you'll need to go to guest services. (7 day/$99 pass)
give yourself extra time in case this is needed.
Just to show how screwy the weather can be here....I work off of Sand Lake Road and it poured most of the day...I live near Apopka and Ocoee and had very little rain at the house by the look of things. You'd think the entire region was soaked to the bone...not so.To the locals-are y'all doing ok weather wise? I'm an Okie, and we know all too well how awful severe weather can be-especially lately!! I'm heading down there in a week and so I've been anxiously watching the weather in FL and praying for sun!!!![]()
