Weather Update for Those Sailing This Weekend

Looks like this tropical depression is poorly organized and may blow itself out. Yippee!! The latest info from the NWS at 11:00 AST states that tropical storm watches and warnings were discontinued with the exception of the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

Here's the good news from the NWS:

THE DEPRESSION HAS THE POTENTIAL TO BECOME A TROPICAL STORM DURING THE NEXT 24 HOURS IF IT CAN MAINTAIN A CLOSED WIND CIRCULATION. HOWEVER...IF THE DEPRESSION CONTINUES WESTWARD AT ITS PRESENT MOTION...IT COULD
DISSIPATE LATER TODAY.

Just checked the Weather Channel site and it appears that Tropical Depression 2 has weakened into a tropical wave and will further weaken as it moves westward in the Carribean. What a relief for us sailing this weekend. However, the forecast for Nassau on Monday calls for T-storms and a 40% chance of precip. Please send some Pixie dust our way!
