Aug 23-25 we are at the parks. The weather is showing thunder and heavy rain. How accurate is this and will it rain all day or do you get breaks?

Just go with it!! Poncho up and carry on. Lots to do indoors, don't give up!! You'll have a lot of fun and often the parks clear out a bit.

I would say yes, look at a weather app, rain all week. Earlier today all the outside attractions at the MK were showing as closed in MDE, this is normally due to storms and lightning in the area. This is the time of year we go (will be there next week) and it is always stormy (and I mean absolute downpours, like Noah and the Ark downpours). It does stop, but it can always start up again. Invest in decent ponchos and go with it! Not much else you can do.

back pack for ponchos and extra pair of shoes, MK floods, ankle deep water, you don't want blisters from wet shoes

In Central Florida, the thunder and rain usually last around 15 minutes. It’s “splash and dash” as they call it here. Hard to predict as well. If you’re in Magic Kingdom, plan to focus on the indoor attractions and find a place ahead of time to dine indoors like a table service or indoor quick service restaurant.

It’s FL in Aug. Have been here for 3 days and it’s as expected - Sunny and Melt-your-face-off hot the majority of the time then it clouds over, the heavens open for a few mins, things cool off slightly then the sun comes out again.

Rinse and repeat either later the same day or the following day.

I don’t find it’s often a rain all day situation, more like brief bursts.

I’d recommend looking at the hourly forecast over the next few days to see what is common.

We are local and what the forecast is showing is typical of this time of year. There will be some scattered thunderstorms each day but it won't rain the whole day.

Watch the skies and head into a quick service. It typically rains between 3-5 for about 20 minutes. Once you are done eating, the rain will have stopped and you enjoy the parks after many have left! In August, it will say everyday for Florida! If you are really concerned, get an app that shows weather coming in with times and plan around it. Reality, we go all the time in August (because of occupation) and it can be a great time to go with less crowds. There is also shopping you can do when the storms hit, but many will be shopping with you!
