:guilty: We're going to WDW this week from Tuesday 9/27-Tuesday 10/4. The weather report lists "isolated thunderstorms" all week. What exactly does that mean? I'm trying to be optimistic, but....

It means that probably for an hour or two each afternoon, you'll have some T-storms. It's a fairly typical weather pattern in FL this time of year. During our trip, it rained EVERY day for one to two to three hours except the day we left! It was only a minor annoyance - we only got "caught" out in the rain probably once unprepared.

A good idea is to carry a tiny umbrella or two and those dollar store ponchos in your "bag." We did and definitely used them!

it is tooo soon to rely on the weather....it can change day to day..trust me..

Yep. You never know about the weather.
Last Dec we left on a Saturday. Weather dot com told me it would be sunny every day except Thursday with highs in the lower 70s.

Well, it was sunny every single day and 1/2 of our trip had days with the highs in the mid 50s and lows in the 30s!

They didn't even get Sunday's weather right, and I looked on Saturday.

You'll have fun even if there is an afternoon thunderstorm.

This time of year in Florida, nearly every day has a chance of isolated thunderstorms. It's just our summer weather pattern. It shouldn't be more than an hour or two, somedays maybe none at all. In our experience, the afternoons thunderstorms chase people out of the parks, anyway.

Worrying about the weather won't change it. It will just make you feel anxious. Try not to worry and just focus on the fun you'll have!

We will be there at the same time as you! We also went at the same time last year. The other posters are right. The weather in Florida varies greatly and it most likely means it will rain for anywhere from 10 minutes to 2 hours each day. We're not worried at all. Just pack a poncho, or walk around and enjoy the free way to cool off from the 90+ degree heat!

So are the thunderstorms pretty much in the afternoon only? What about evening? We have tickets to MNSSHP on 10/2 (Sunday), and I was wondering how that would be affected? :confused3

we'll be at that MNSSHP that night as well. isolated t-storms down here mean little. our weekly forecast is 90 high/70 low, 30% chance of rain each day. that's the forecasters way of saying they don't know. but typically, it'll rain between 3-5 pm for a period of time. then dry through the night. I can only think of one time I've seen it rain at night in WDW. plus, we're approaching the dry season here. I wouldn't worry.

Maybe I'll cya both there that day. Are you wearing costumes? I have an orange shirt that has pumpkins all over it and says Happy Halloween. DS20 has a black tshirt with a ghost on it that say " Be Afriad, Be very Afraid " :rotfl2:

we'll be towing our daughter and 2 friends all dressed as cinderelly. we'll be on the rides or hanging in toontown. it's the best place to see the characters. :earsboy:

The operative words are "isolated", "chance" "maybe" perhaps" ,"localized" etc etc. Meaning they really don't know if or when or even where it may (or may not) rain.
Our experience in going to WDW this time of year (since 1975) is that IF it rains, it's usually later in the afternoon, and for about an hour or so. Then it drys up, the sun comes out, and you don't even know it did rain!!
