My co-worker just came back in the office from outside and told me how incredibly warm it is today (we are having a real "heat wave" in DC this week).

I said to her "Oh good, I can't wait to drive home in my car without having to wear my coat."

She says: "Oh no, I wouldn't do that, you're going to be sorry. You'll be sick by the end of the week.":confused3

I then retorted that I'm sure it's better to get in my car in a coat, sweat, and then walk around outside?

She then proceeds to tell me that based on it being so warm this week we are going to have a TON of snow by the end of the month.

How do people come up with this stuff?

And, darn, I better not be sick by the end of the week. I think she jinxed me!!!

You cannot get sick just from being cold so you don't have to worry. I never wear my coat in the car, I can't stand being uncomfortable. I have a remote starter so it's usually warmed up. If not, I take my coat off as soon as it's at all warm.

In California we all used to say some days it was "earthquake weather".

I think it was when it was unseasonably warm, a little humid, with a wind blowing. The kind of weather that feels kind of wrong somehow. Disturbing. Makes people get headaches and feel uncomfortable.

'Course there is no connection between weather and earthquakes. But it seemed like we all believed that they were connected somehow. :confused3
