This may sound weird, but I love, love, love thunderstorms and the big buckets of rain at WDW! Can anyone tell me the best times to go, so that I can see lots of T-storms and rain? We were thinking of going next April. Thank you much!

Well, you may see some in April, but if you want a guarantee of one almost every afternoon try July or August!

Go in July and August and have seen some real fireworks. The best time is summer the heat kicks up some real spectucular ones.

Hot months = more thunderstorms.

Cooler months = fewer thunderstorms.

September when there's a hurricane brewing....Dh and I were there last September and got plenty!

We just got back on July 3rd. It rained almost everyday but only for a few minutes. But one day, while we were at the countries in EPCOT, it lasted about 30 minutes......luckily we were in the shops at the time. The sky got sooooo dark.........

We've been in April twice and only had a thunderstorm one day. And it mostly rain and not a lot of thunder.

Yes! That is what I like, just dont like the heat much. =(

If you want to see thunder storms, please :worship: stay away from WDW Oct. 8-13. I will be there and I don't want to see any. I want to ride rides and see WDW, not to set in a room and watch thunder storms. I can see them at home. :goodvibes

You should have been down here today, there was plenty of lightning and rain! :goodvibes

As matter of fact, when I watched the news they mentioned how bad it was over at Titusville (over by the Space Center) earlier today, so I looked it up and wow:

Lightning/2000 v3.4.4 Summary (Friday, July 07, 2006 at 10:26:42 PM EDT)

Since midnight (1346.7 mins.):
Total strokes: 65,356 (avg. 48.5/min.)

Cloud to ground flashes: 18,977 (avg. 14.1/min.)
Total strong cloud-to-ground strokes: 602 (avg. 0.447/min.)

48.5 strokes per minute at one point of the storm! Yikes! Flash, boom, flash, boom, flash, boom! :scared1:

And one of them was right outside my window...... I respect lightning, but I am not afraid of the storms (I too rather like them), but this one made me jump out of my chair, the dogs bark (they are not generally afraid of the thunder/lightning being FL puppies!!!) and my DD come flying into my office! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

If next April is anything like this April, don't count on thuderstorms....we barely had RAIN!
