I am having a terrible time planning what to pack for this trip! We have never gone this time of year. What is the typical weather at WDW like the week after Christmas??? Will I need to take a heavy coat and clothes? Is swimming out for DS? We are staying at the Swan. :D

OMG you are me, just one year ago!
My advise, watch the local weather forcast the week before you leave! We were there(with the hords) last year for c-mas through NYE. The weather was 40 degree's(and don't fool yourself that 40 is different in FL..it is a REAL 40!) one day and 80 degree's the rest of the time.
You know what worked best for us...silk long underwear!!!!!. Easy to pack and very warm!!! We brought layed jackets(a sweatshirt, a sweater and a windbreaker) and wore those going to the airport from home.
The weather is all over the board down there in Dec and January. One day we were in ALL the clothes listed above and 2 days later we were going into the Hall of Presidents(not a usual attraction for me and my 2 kids 11 and 13) just to cool off and get into the air condtioning!!!

Good Luck and Enjoy your Vacation ~ Debbie

The previous poster is right - as a floridian I can tell you, ya just never know. Pack a little of everything and You'll be ok - Dec. can be in the 80's and great pool weather or quite chilly and you're wearing jeans and a jacket.

It's 2 days from Thanksgiving day and so far I've been still wearing shorts but putting on a light jacket once the sun goes down if I go out at night -- been about 80 or so during the day and high 50's low 60's at night but Dec. is still a few weeks away and weather can change drastically overnight in the Dec. - Feb. months.

so best advice is come prepared with a little of everything and hope you won't need the warmer clothes. The good part though is that at least you won't likely be standing in lines at the parks and being too hot -- it will defenitly be great park weather;)

Sorry if this wasn't much help but unfortuneatly, the winter months can be really unpredictable - at least no chance of hurricanes though - hurricane season will officially be over on Nov.30 - Yay!!:teeth:

Have a great time!

www.wftv.com is a local TV that is pretty accurate. I have been here when it is very warm and other times chilly. My kids always went swimming though.
