just wondeed if the weather this August was typical of the time of year as it wasnt what we expected.

We were expecting it to be very hot, high humidity and tropical storms where it rained suddenly but ended quickly.

The first evening we arrived (the 15th ) it was hot and humid, my kids said it felt like you could feel the air. That was the only day I noticed the humidity.

The first few days were very hot, one night at Epcot watching the fireworks were were melting at 9pm but it wasnt very humid.

A lot of the time it wasnt very sunny though was hot so we brought loads of suncream home and didnt remotely burn.

The last few days we had lots of rain, not showers but all day drizzle and heavy rain and it wasnt hot, warmer than here but one day people were walking round in jeans and jumpers!

I would have liked a bit more sun though I know it would have been too much if it was sweltering every day, at least we could walk around the parks comfortably.

Just wondering if we went the same time next year what we should expect it to be like ?

we're going 11th August 2011 so im interested to hear as well. Ive been trying to see what everythings been like this year, just to give me an idea for next year. :goodvibes

I think with it being storm season it can really vary.

We went in 2008 end of August into September for two weeks and the weather was gorgeous apart from one or two bad days(when Orlando was on the back end of a hurricane).

It was very hot and humid all the time I got heatstroke twice in World Showcase. :lmao: Boyfriend said he's making me wear my hat all the time next year.

Hi

This was the first year in 7 that we went the first 2 weeks in August rather than the back end of August. We found that there were less rainstorms and clearer skies.

We went 2 years ago when there were alot of tropical storms ahead that wouldn't disappear and our 2nd work was slightly ruined by constant rain...it was cold too!! I remember being at Aquatica, huddled in our towels to keep warm!! I do remember this being a one off tho and we've always experienced hot hot hot in the past 10 years.

Hope this helps :goodvibes

Like any time of year in Florida its very difficult to predict, this is about the 5th or 6th August we have been and it was more cloudy than usual but the 1st time we went in August a few years ago it was horrible weather, thunder, lightening & torrential rain from about 3-11pm every day. Other years hardly a drop of rain or a cloud in the sky.

Generally I would say you could reasonably expect better weather than it sounds like you had in August this year - but who knows these days :confused3

Having just got back on Sunday having spent 21st till 28th August there I can confirm that this is exactly the weather that we had. It was very hot and very humid every day with thunderstorms and monsoon type rain for hours on end. We only saw glimpses of the sun on one afternoon the whole week.
