BF and I are strongly considering going to WDW for our honeymoon. It would be Oct 16-23. I've never been this time of year, and don't know what to expect.

How is the weather?

How late are MK and MGM usually open until?

How are the crowds?

Any problems with large groups in attendance at this time i.e. cheerleaders or sport competitions?

Anything else I should know about that might be going on, besides MNSSHP?

TIA!

October is the only time of year I have ever been to Disney World! The only down-side I can think of is the parks close fairly early. I think MK closes at 6pm. But the crowds are light. You can get alot done if you go early. As to the weather, it can go either way, often in the same trip! We have had days were the sweat was running off of us, and days that were overcast and a bit on the chilly side. So pack an assortment of clothes. We have never run into any large tour groups either. MNNSHP is a blast! Buy your tickets in advance, they are cheaper and the partys are usually sold out the day of. Don't forget to check out EPCOT'S food and wine festival. YUMMY! Oh, and congratulations on your wedding!!! :cake:

MK closes at 6:00pm on MNSSHP nights. Other nights later. MGM 7:30-8:00. See this past October hours:

Crowds have gotten larger in October with the Food & Wine Festival at Epcot starting on 10/1 now.

Okay, sounds a lot like the first week of December so far, which is the trip we just got back from! BF loves Halloween, so he'll dig MNSSHP. And if the parks close early, well, we are on our honeymoon, I'm sure we can find something to do with our evenings! F&W sounds fun too, I've always wanted to go!

Thanks!

i personally don't think Mid-October is like the traditional first week of December. Traditionally, the first week of December is DEAD...we never waited more than 20 minutes for ANYTHING..including the mountains, TOT, Test Track, etc. There were times in EPCOT where it was sort of creepy because there is no one around....that being said, I know this year was different with the Hurricane season and people rescheduling their vacations.

Again, I think Oct is a great time to go (we are planning our trip close to your dates 13th - 24th 2005).
