What is the weather like on a cruise in January? :sunny: 60's? 70's? 80's? I would be real upset if I went and it was under 70 the whole time :cold: , I want to go in january because it just works out well for our vacation schedules.

We're also looking at January, but the average highs are only like one degree or two degrees cooler than March.

But maybe reality is different than average?

We sailed this past January and it was cooler then average. We also had poor weather for most of our cruise and missed Grand Cayman and Castawat Cay due to rough seas and high winds...Mark

We sailed DCL in January 04 and had incredible weather. 80s each day, swam each day on the ship or port. High 70s and swam at CC. In the 50s when we left PC, but we still had our short sleeves on. It was great.

We were on RCI this past January and had great weather each day as well. 80s while at sea, but breezy this year. Hot in Jamaica and GC.

We sailed DCL January 2004. It was beautiflu "shorts and T shirt" weather at all stops. Swimming was a bit iffy due to really cold water. We would not have gotten in the water if we hadn't already paid for the excursions (dolphins, sting rays). At CC only my DS 10 tried to swim and started to turn blue and his lips were chattering. Some people were swimming so I guess it is what you are used to and can stand to get into!

sailed this past january and weather was perfect. water was al little cold on cc when you first got in but weather was great. :cool1:

We were so torn between cruising in Jan vs May. We would be really unhappy with bad weather, so have chosen the 5/28/06 cruise. Our next door neighbors have cruised the past 2 Jans, tho. This year, they had gorgeous weather. Friends of theirs (who cruised the very next week) had cold and rain the entire time. It's just too hit or miss for us. We are from Florida, tho. Anything less than mid-70's in the daytime feels cold to us.

I cruised in January both last year and this year. Last year Eastern, Jan 10 and this year Western, Jan 29th. Both times we had the most awesome weather in the carribbean but on both cruises....castaway cay wasnt the greatest. First time it was a bit chilly and water was cold and this past Jan, we almost didnt get in due to rough seas. All the excursions were cancelled. I prefer January because I dont care for 90-100 degree weather not including the humidity. Both times I have cruised, the weather was definitely in the 80s.

:) enjoy!

Toopure and my family were on the same 04 cruise. I should amend to add we are from New England and ocean water temps in August are usually only high 60s.... so that may be why it was swimmable for my DS6 and I.
