I made the mistake of looking at the extended weather forecast for Kissimmee as we'll be down towards the end of next week. Looks like quite a bit of rain during our vacation. My DH is a "pool guy" and loves hanging out at the BCV pool. Now he's bummed. I hope that the weather forecast will change by the time we leave.

If you don't like the long-term forcast for the greater Orlando area, check again tomorrow. :lmao: Seriously.

Be prepared for the rain, but don't bank on the weather either way. The forecast for my recent trip looked like thunderstorms every day, and we barely got a drop of rain. The weather turned out to be perfect!

I hope that you're right. We were in WDW this last May and it poured for a good part of it....so we're hoping for some good weather.

I don't know about Orlando but I'm about an hour and a half away west (Tampa area) in FL and our extended forecast for the next 10 days is less than 20% chance of rain everyday.
Computer models bring something up from the gulf in 2 weeks but it's so far out that our forecasters are telling us that it's too soon to tell.
This is really the end of our rainy season with weather turning nearly perfect for vacations.
Personally, if it does rain, it won't be an all day affair. It hardly ever is in FL.

I tend to agree in general terms but you should have been there the first week of Oct. :rotfl2:

The best pool day we ever had at BCV was a rainy day. No thunder, no lightning, but a good mist all day long.

There were probably a total of 10 people in the pool. :cool1: We basically had it all to ourselves. So much fun! The next day it was sunny again and you could not find a lounge chair at the pool that day. :)

We have been here since the 12th and only 1 day did we even have the slightest chance of rain. We had about 3 tiny drops hit is that day in EP and that was it. There is a storm out in the Atlantic that they have been talking about watching so maybe that is why they have something on he forecast.

Don't worry - there is nothing you can do about he weather & you will still have a great time!!!

Thanks everybody! Hopefully, the weather will be nice. Unless it pours all day, I'm Ok with a couple of showers but my DH is a "sun god" and gets grumpy if it rains LOL.

We've been here since the 14th and have had gorgeous weather. There were a couple mornings/days that were fairly overcast, but minimal wet drops. I started watching the extended forecast 15 days before our trip began and it truly did change every few days. The day before our trip, it predicted 3 days with at least 30-40% chance of rain. It just didn't happen.
Hope your trip is as great as ours has been!

Same for us. We were there 10-4 thru 10-13 and only had rain the 1st two evenings. We had lots of sun, warm and humid. Great pool weather. Have fun!

Tell your husband not to get bummed out! You're all on vacation and you won't know what the weather is doing till you're here! Weather forecasts, especially a week out is just plain guessing on something that changes by the minute!

I will say that we are detecting a bit of fall in the air, finally but only in early morning. It's still hot and partly sunny (which I prefer to partly cloudy, after all it is the same thing} during the day!

I have several times made a chart of the long term forecasts. My experience with Orlando is that from 2 weeks out to maybe 2 days out for any given day, the forecast cycles through just about every possibility . . . sunny, cloudy, chance of rain, rain, sunny . . . In other words, the long range forecast is pretty useless, so don't give up hope.

I have never seen all day rain. Spotty at best. Don't sweat it will be perfect! Also look at weather again the day before you leave. WAYYY to far out..

Here's my take on the situation....:rotfl:

DH thinks I'm nuts cause I check the Weather Channel each night before turning in. I'm a pool person with sun if possible! Unless they say there's a 60 % chance of rain I don't even worry. I've learned over the many years of going to Florida that 20%, 30% even 40% doesn't mean anything. And....usually the rain/storms come in the late afternoon. Now, don't hold me to this!! :rotfl2: I don't want "hate mail' from your DH...:rotfl2: But relax. Like others said don't worry.

Actually, just checking the date of the original post you may be there now!! Have fun...wish I was back. I'm suffering PDD right now!! :goodvibes

Rain aside, the 10 day forecast does show a decent drop in temp at the end of the month (around the 30th) into the 60's for a few days, but it's showing it climbing back to 80 on 11/3, the day we arrive. The last few spring and fall trips we've made to Florida have followed a strange pattern where we've left during unusual warm spells in the northeast and arrived for unseasonably cool weather, this past spring we left NJ and it was 79 when we took off and 67 when we landed in Fort Myers. No more of that!

I'm with you, Wilson. We were there that week and by the end of it all I wanted to be was DRY. It was the worst weather I've ever experienced in WDW and I've been going since the 70's! :thumbsup2

I was there that week. Didn't let the rain stop me. It seemed to be a daily 5pm ritual.

We are coming in two weeks and yes I check the weather daily.

We were there in 2000, June. There had Been a drought that year, we broke that drought. It rained daily, all day, for 7 of our 9 days. But what are you gonna do???? You are there, so you throw on your poncho and enjoy the parks along with everyone else. If you are home you can stay indoors and stay dry. But you are there to have the best time, so you do it and have memories of the time you were there and the weather was not perfect.

Relax and have fun.

Let's all hope Sandy spares Central Florida. I was in WDW when Debby reared her ugly head and I had 4 straight days of rain; not showers or sprinkles but downpours with high winds. :sad2:
