Just jumped on the free dining band-wagon, but so blindly! How is the weather in September? I know that someone had posted a link that woild show the average temps. during different times of the year-but I can't find it. TIA

I use the one for weatherunderground.com Then I think you click on trip planner. Haven't been there in a while. Hope that is correct.

We're going in Sept too. Planning for it to be hot & muggy. Taking rain ponchos. I'm not sure about those fan misters everyone talks about here. It would seem like one more thing to carry around.

Now we just need September to hurry up and get here!

Enjoy your trip!

We went in September 2001 (right after 9-11). It was around 95 and HOT. I had no idea that it was going to be as bad as it was (I hate heat). :wave2:

I'll second that. Last year was the first time we went in September (on free dinning). It was very hot and muggy. However, we had really no rain and we walked on everything over and over again. Going again this September not looking foward to the heat but free dinning makes it worth it.

Very hot.

Very humid.

Very hot.

Rainy.

Very hot.

Always a hurricane threatening somewhere.

Did I say very hot?

Thanks alot guys! I pretty much figured it would still be warm..but I didn't expect HOT. I'm a summer person, but not the heat! WIth a 2 year old, this should be interesting! But if there isn't much of a crowd, I will brave the heat. We just got back in March from a late Feb. trip-and the crowd level was awesome! And it was about 83 every day..so I think that I can deal! Again thanks!

LOVED IT!!!!!!! This will be our third Sept. in a row... IT is a trade off.. yes, it is hotter, but the rides that get you wet feel soooo good... and there are basically no lines! That afternoon shower can also be refreshing!

As a former Jersey Boy myself, be warned 83 would be cool down here in September. Expect 90s every day, and still oppresively humid to boot. Also daily rain showers (maybe it's me, but it always seems that by September that hit later in the day, around 3:30 or 4).

Like all the posters said before me, way, way hot and humid. The humidity is probably the key word here, since 90 degrees feels like 103. It's imperative that you keep yourself hydrated. Drink lots of water, even when you think you're not thirsty.

Florida does tend to get thunderstorms in the afternoons in September, generally between two p.m. and five p.m. They don't last long (maybe an hour for any one particular area), but they can be severe and not a situation I'd want to be in walking around outdoors with the lightning. We use this time to shop indoors or head back to the hotel to recharge a bit.

Plan to sweat...an awful lot. When DH and I go in September (which is our wedding anniversary month, so we always hit Orlando, even if it's just for an overnight trip), I bring waterproof mascara and lipstick, that's it. Everything else just melts within a few minutes. This is true even at night.

I don't even worry about my hair. I tie it up and plan on having to re-tie it several times over the day from all the sweat. I also cover it up with a big visor or hat, depending on whether it's daytime or nighttime.

The ground is about as hot as it's going to get in September. I find no matter what shoes I wear, my feet are sorer than any other month we go in. Personally, soaking them in hot water -- perferably a jacuzzi somewhere -- fixes them in about five minutes. If there's no jacuzzi, DH and I soak them in the tub in our room after showers while we sit on the tub ledge (nice visual, eh?).

Hurricanes, ugh. After the past couple years, I think Floridians now realize it's our turn and the Carolinas get a break! Once you're there and a hurricane is threatening the Orlando area, I think you'll be safe. For us, it's the trip to and from that we become concerned about, since we're already in Florida and we drive. Just watch the weather and forecasts and try and be flexible in case you need to stay an extra day at WDW or come a day late.

The weather is just going nuts everywhere, no matter what part of the world you live in. At least with a 'cane, you can see it churning out there on the news days in advance. As it gets closer, the weather folks are pretty good about predicting what it will do. I don't know how other Floridians feel on this board, but during hurricane season, watching our local weatherman every night is a "must do!"

When it gets a little closer to your trip, bookmark an Orlando local news station to see what's being advised. We use the WESH website, which has a live feed/telecast.

Here is the link to weather underground which will give you 7 years of historical data:

We went last Sept 17-23 and it was awesome!! It steadily rained one day but the rest was very manageable...highs in the 80s and lots of sunshine..

We have gone in September the last 2 years, and it is hot and humid, and you have to watch out for the hurricanes. But, I expect it to be hot & humid when I go to WDW, and I think I would be disappointed if it wasn't. The lines are nonexistent to 20 mins most of the time, and we also find the afternoon showers refreshing. A little rain isn't going to stop our fun!

We have gone in Sept or Oct every other year for the past 14 years. The weather has varied from tropical depressions to perfect weather all week long. I always carry the cheap .99 cent emergency panchos for the almost daily half hour long afternoon down pour. When the rain stops just throw it away. We usually spend most of the days at one of the waterparks, then head back to our room to clean up for the evening at one of the theme parks.

100% accurate. I live in FL, Miami to be exact and Aug. & September are our HOTTEST months. You may want to pack lightly and keep well hydrated...the temperature may read 95 but I'll feel more like 105+.

HOT! MUGGY! HUMID! We always used to go in September, usually the last week, but I can't take it anymore. It is usually in the high 90s. On the upside...there are no crowds at all. No lines (or very minimal).

We went last September, we were there at the tail end of hurricane Rita. It was 95% humidity with 95 temps everyday but only rained for the first 2.5 day and was sunny the rest of the time. But it was worth the short waits in line!!!
