I've looked online and saw all the 'average' daily temps etc- but was hoping someone that has been in October could give me a better idea. Is it hot, warm, humid? What? We are planning on going around the 11th of Oct. (09) We are still wanting to swim everyday and just wondering if it will be cool at all at night or if it will still be melting hot during the day. I haven't been since I was 14 and it was April when we went. Thanks for any help!

We went in October and it was perfect!!! There were only 2 days(out of 8) that were chilly. We were able to swim. But bring a sweatshirt and a pair of pants for everyone. I stress this to everyone because my hubby(to be) said not to pack those things for him and that he would be fine. We live in CT and he works outside as a valet attendant so he is used to cold weather. Anyhow, we ended up paying $45 for a sweatshirt for him at EPCOT because he was freezing!:rotfl: Me and our son were nice and warm because we wore pants and brought sweatshirts!
To give you an idea of how the temp varies, the day before that we were at MK and sweat our butts off!

Oh and I highly recommend October also because of the Halloween Party! It was a blast! Unfortunatly for me, it looks like I might just miss the party.:sad1: We are going in the beginning of September and I don't know when the dates are for it!

we were there this October 19-26
weather was Perfect everyday was mid 80's
def warm enough for swimming but not sweltering in the parks. nights were perfect too. maybe a light jacket at most
enjoy it is our fav time

We went in October 2007 and it was in the 90's every day. We still had a blast, but we got exhausted like you do in the summer. My parents, who live in Florida said the 90 degree heat in the middle of August was very unusual.

The first half of October is pretty much guaranteed to be hot and pretty humid,I always see the middle of October as when we might start seeing some cool fronts come through and cool us down somewhat.October is what us Floridians like to look at as the start of the nice weather of the year, drier and cooler!

We were also there Oct. 19-25th & I agree, the weather was perfect.

We were there the 1st week of October & it was very hot & humid. 90's during the day with opressive humidity. If I go back in October it will be late October!

We went Oct 3-10th in 07. It rained quite a bit, but mostly it was a sprinkle here, and there. It was fairly warm the whole time we were there. I would go back in a heart beat during that time. :) The kids were even able to swim at 10pm.

We were there the last week of Oct last year, and it was jacket weather for most of the week. The highs were in the upper 40s/lower 50s for a few of them. Early in the month it might be a bit warm (upper 80s) during the day with pleasant evenings. Late in the month it can possibly be a bit cool during the day and downright cold at night. You pay your money and you take your chances.

I know this won't help you much, but . . . it totally depends on the year! We always go in October, and have had just about every kind of weather you can imagine (especially since it's in the middle of hurricane season!):

1) Extremely hot and humid
2) No rain at all
3) Raining every day (for a while, at least)
4) Very pleasant weather
5) Hurricane Wilma - a category two hurricane

It was the year of Hurricane Wilma that was the most unusual - the hurricane went through on Day Three of our trip. It was hot and humid before the hurricane, and very pleasant (around 70 degrees, no humidity) after the hurricane - almost too cool to sit comfortably by the pool.

But generally, it has been hot and humid, with quite a bit of rain. That seems to be pretty typical, in my experience. Great pool weather - we spent the whole day at Typhoon Lagoon on day on our trip in 2007.

We have been going the last week in October for the past 12 years and is our favorite time of year to go. Weather is mid 80's during day, no humidity, no daily afternoon thunderstorms (except this year, we did have one thunderstorm on the last day and also broke a 10 year record cold weather on one day -it was 45 degrees in the morning). Nights are about high 60's - low 70s - fine with a sweatshirt if you want. GREAT time of year to go with the Halloween party and the Food & Wine. Crowds are not bad except on the weekend at the F&W.

DH and I have been going every October since 2001 and think it is the perfect time to go. It is not too hot (or crowded) and you should absolutely be able to go swimming. I always bring a sweatshirt for the evenings just in case but rarely need it. Don't miss the food and wine festival, that is one of the reasons we go in October.
