My family and I are going to dl in May, the 14th-17th and we were wondering what the weather will be like? I know they have an avereage weather site, but it looks like that is a bit off from what I've seen of the temps already. Just want to be prepared as we are from Sequim, Wa and it rains quite a bit here.

thanks grandma dez, papa jim, daughter alisha, gr.s wayne and gr.d taylor

California doesn't rain anywhere near what Washington does.. The weather should be nice 70's & 80's.

Thank you so much for asking this question, DisneyDez!!! I'm also from WA State and will be heading to DL in mid-May with my Hubby and two kiddos (DS6 and DS2) and was curious about Anaheim's Spring weather :scratchin Accuweather has the average tempature for mid-May at 75 degrees... good Lord... that's hotter than our average summer temperatures here in Washington :rotfl2: Though, I am looking forward to the sunshine while down there :sunny: just hoping for NO RAIN :umbrella: Hope you enjoy your trip!!!

I found this list of air-conditioned DL shows and rides while browsing the web for DL tips ;) Hope it's accurate... and helpful!!!

DISNEYLAND (air-conditioned shows)
- Tiki Room
- Billy Hill & Hillbillies

DISNEYLAND (rides to escape heat)
- Space Mountain
- Indy (can be a bit stuffy in the queue but it's at least out of the sun)
- Splash Mountain (If you FP this you'll remain mostly indoors and shade)
- Haunted Mansion (queue is outside but ride is A/C)
- Pirates (16-min ride indoors with A/C)
- Star Tours (most of queue is indoors, ride is also)
- Winnie the Pooh (always a short line, ride is indoors)
- Small World (queue is outside but ride is long and indoors)
- Roger Rabbit (FP it and the wait will be short; ride is indoors)

DCA (air-conditioned shows)
- Aladdin (but queue is outside)
- Turtle Talk (show and queue is indoors)
- Muppet Vision 3D
- It's Tough to Be a Bug

DCA (rides to escape heat)
- Soarin' (If you FP it you'll be indoors for the queue and ride)
- Monsters Inc (most of queue is outside but ride is indoors)
- Tower of Terror

Also, the shops are typically very well air conditioned. Disneyland has a lot of large trees and therefore you'll find it much easier to find shade than in DCA.

The southern CA weather is beautiful. Its at its hottest in July/August. I'm from Northern CA & we go to So. CA to for the warmer weather.

I will be there the exact same days! I hope it's nice weather too!

We're used to WDW during June, 75-80s makes me think we should pack jackets and jeans :rotfl2:

Its always a good idea to pack a light jacket because you never know... & the weather at WDW is insane!!! Im used to beautiful sunny CA w/no humidity & went to FL in December & hated it!!! I mean the weather not WDW...:) one minute it was cold then hot (shorts weather) then raining... you couldn't even trust the weather reports & just changed to frequently... I guess living in CA I have no clue what real weather is like & has made me somewhat of a spoiled princess :)

Oh, it will be beautiful in May! We used to live in So Cal...I miss the nice weather!

Your best bet is to check the forecast the week before you leave for possible rain. Otherwise, plan on both heat and cooler temps in the early morning and later evening.

I have to say checking the weather for CA has made me jealous! I love WDW but the weather is usually not as magical! :crazy2: Hurricanes, heat, humidity, storms, and crowds :scared:

Considering we have a snowfall warning tonight, and bad highway conditions, I'll take 70's & 80's! It will be shorts & tank tops for us Canadians! Can't wait!!!

It barely rains in SoCal , mostly good weather except the mornings and nights can be alittle chilly!

When we've been in May, the weather was lovely. The forecast can give you a general idea, but temps. can cool down or heat up with almost NO warning! Come prepared for beautiful weather, BUT do throw in a light jacket, a couple of long sleeve shirts, and an umbrella/poncho (probably won't need, but just in case). It's nice to be prepared for the unexpected, because there are times when we have needed quite a range of clothing options--usually in the cooler months though, NOT May! Hope that helps:)!

;) Went last year the week leading into Memorial weekend and in the morning experienced what they call "June Gloom" (Marine layer). It was a little chilly in the am but by 11am/12pm it burnt off. This year planning Disney Halloween trip (looking into first 2 weeks in Oct)...crossing fingers for good weather. Have a great time

Our June gloom has started early this year. We have been having heavy cloud cover in the morning so thick it drizzles. By May we will still possible have some, but I doubt very very much it will rain. Our rainy season is usually done by them. It is a great month to visit.
