I was just wondering if anybody who had been in March could tell me what sort of weather to expect?

Is it likely to be thermals weather or just coat, hat & gloves? Or should I prepare for the worst just incase?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Charlotte.

In 2004 it was absolutely freezing with light snow and sleet, so we're going well prepared - but who knows, it's been so mild here today I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it'll last.

Pack some vaseline or lip balm (my youngest got very chapped lips and chin), especially if you've little ones that might dribble.

Let's hope the sun's shining :wizard:

We go on 12th March with our three children 7, almost 3, and 17 months and are staying at New York Hotel for 5 nights.

Starting to get excited now, but like you do worry about what the weather will be like as i've heard lots about it being freezing - going to get the youngest two some thermal tights just incase - poor things they're all boys, but Navy tights will be ok!! Better than being cold!

I agree, you can cope with almost anything so long as you are warm. :)

Fingers crossed that the weather will be kind to you and you will have some glorious :sunny:

oh my i haven't given the weather a second thought, but coming from up north it is cold, hoping it will stay warm and sunny, or cold and dry, its the rain i hate, so will have to rethink packing, hats, gloves, scarves, coats and layers, hope they will not be needed.

we visited in the 3rd week of March in 2005. The weather was lovely (18degrees) - in fact we had to buy t-shirts! So you never know, you may be lucky! Prepare for the worst and hope for the best. Check the Met Office website a couple of days before you go for a more accurate forecast.

This is the problem with Paris - the weather is too much like ours - unpredictable, when we visited in October we went armed to the teeth with woollies and ended up in Tshirts, yet others have said how cold it's been in October.
The current opinion seems to be that there isn't any rain on the way (water companies are panicking, then again when aren't they) and that by March we will be well into Spring weather. :cloud9:
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

It might help to take 'layers' of clothes. Long sleeve-tshirts, fleeces and pack-away raincoats. That way you can wear all the layers if it is a little chilly and just one if the sun decides to make an appearance:)
